This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape.

Use these for cymbals, ac. guitar, violin... rich sounding instruments. Freq response is terrific & very versatile w/ 2 pad settings, 2 rolloff settings, & 2 patterns. I love having the shockmount clips as well.

I bought this mic on a whim. I have a large mic collection and find Cad mics hit or miss. They make some dull sounding entry level mics and some incredible sounding high end microphones. One thing: their mics tend to be incredibly tough. I'm a huge fan of the equitek line, so I figured I'd see what this mic was all about since it looks pretty cool. This mic is great, especially for the price. It sounds great on vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar and bass cabs, and piano. I briefly tried it out as a room mic for drums but found the top end a bit too harsh (horrible zbt cymbals), but I didn't get a chance to experiment much with placement, nor with switching cymbals out. I used the mic on a recent recording session I did for a metal band. Paired with a dynamic mic on a 2x15 bass cab about a foot away from the speaker, the cad e40 captured an absolutely killer bass sound. Punchy with just enough grit, and incredibly detailed sounding. It might be my go to mic for 15 inch speakers from now on.

They are very light weight and balanced well. Don't last that long before cymbals shred them but the proce is low enough to justify that

I have some Gator bags for my drums, cymbals and hardware. They are solid, well padded, light weight, compressible and reasonably priced. I didn't know they also made bags for other kinds of hardware. For a large monitor like mine (24) there weren't many choices and no good ones, until I saw this one from Gator at bhpphoto. Turns out it's the only place you can get them. I carry this monitor everywhere and the bag gives it better protection than anything other than a heavy hard case. It has a solid strap and handle and gives complete protection for any minor bashing. I can't say how it would fare in a steep drop but my guess is it would be ok. The padding is pretty thick. Ordering was painless and it came within a week. They also have larger sizes, which I may get for my 32 and 40 monitors. Usually I discount reviews that are glowing like this. But Gator just makes good stuff. If you need an example just go to your local drum store and take a look.

This drum cover works great. I was able to cover my drums, cymbals and all the percussion stuff I have clustered around the drum set. The lightly weighted corners let it just fall into place.
