This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

The quality is top-notch and does not degrade the image quality. I use B+W clear filters to protect all of my lenses. And the brass rings never bind.

Don’t notice image degradation with the filter & it protect the lens. Would be better if it’s made of brass instead of Aluminum for better robustness.

Not a lot to elaborate on. The filter is very well made, I especially like that it's brass rather than aluminum. What I was looking for was one very high quality filter to use on all my lenses that would impair the image quality the least and provide protection. When I first received it I held it up in front of my eyes to compare looking through the filter vs my naked eye. I know this isn't a very accurate way to compare so take this as you will, but the filtered image looked sharper, less glare and contrastier colors than without. Go figure. All in all a great filter, but an expensive one.

I use B+W clear filters to protect all of my lenses. The glass quality does not degrade the image quality like cheap filters do, and the brass rings never bind.

After all the (deservedly) positive reviews this filter holder has got, I was looking forward to getting mine. Initially, though, the filter holder (with filters) kept falling off at the slightest touch, causing me much anguish and annoyance. Fortunately no broken filters.  The holder fits onto a separate adapter ring using three wedges.  Two fixed plastic ones that can be seen on the inside right of the image above (2 oclock and 4 oclock) and a third brass one (hidden in the image above) that is moved by pulling the spring-loaded brass knob at nine oclock.  As it transpired, the brass wedge on my unit was facing in the wrong direction; so, the filter holder although appearing to be attached to the adapter ring was not really - If I was an engineering type and/or more observant, Id have probably realised the problem immediately.  The solution is to loosen the brass screw attached to the brass wedge, turn the wedge 180 degrees, tighten the screw again and voila! Perfect!
