Need I say any more? It works!! Excellent reproduction of Brass Instrument Sounds! How can this be possible at sub $100?? 5 |

This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape. 5 |

Instrument separation, perfect size, portability. Great for my dorm. Excellent bass (unless u do not care about musicality and just want insane bass). 5 |

From the time of their introduction to the market, panchromatic emulsions have been know to retain some of the sensitivity to blue light than the human eye does. Modern emulsions are better, but still benefit visually with the use of a Wratten #8, a.k.a. K2 yellow filter. Being a throwback stubbornly devoted to film, my lenses always have a #8 aboard, whenever I’m making black and white images, unless other contrast control filters are needed for specific circumstances. I can’t say I have done any technical comparisons between the actual bandwidth of filters manufacturers, but have used Tiffen filters for years, with no problems. My only minor gripe is they use aluminum instead of brass rims, which can lead to more frequent jamming, unless extra care is used when installing them. In a perfect world, they would use brass for their rims, and maintain their price point. And my car would start reliably at temperatures below freezing... Users should always keep a filter wrench in their kit when using these. I also treat my filter’s threads with a VERY LIGHT film of synthetic lubricant like SuperLube or Syl-Glide. Avoid lithium grease for all photographic equipment! It’s reactive with most of the alloys used in our precious gear, and degrades into a hard cheesy mess over time. Anyway, Tiffen filters have never disappointed, and are a fine choice, compared to the pricier brands. Of course, ULF users probably could care less, but still— 5 |

It seems many of the new films react less noticeably to the use of contrast filters than years before, and I am not subtle with their use in my own work. In this area, the atmosphere usually requires a stronger filter for building-sky separation as well, even if an N- exposure and development scheme becomes necessary for adequate rendering of shadows in wet prints. That’s why, I generally use deeper filters for my black and white images, so the #29 Orange is my only orange filter. And my wife would never yell at me, for anything... Users should always keep a filter wrench in their kit when using aluminum-rimmed filters like these. If you get a jam, it’s a must to get even torque around the filter to spare the the threads of both filter and lens. I also treat my filter’s threads with a VERY LIGHT film of synthetic lubricant like SuperLube or Syl-Glide, neither of which reacts with the aluminum or degrades over time. Avoid lithium grease at all costs for all photographic equipment! It’s reactive with most of the alloys used in our precious gear and degrades, turning into a hard cheesy substance, should your equipment be unused for a time. Anyway, Tiffen filters have never disappointed, and are a fine choice, compared to the pricier brands. Of course, Linhof users probably could care less, but still— 5 |
