This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape. 5 |

The step-up ring is a generic replacement for the heavy brass ring made by european manufacturers. It is light weighted with slim rims, although not as sturdy as the heavy european versions. The ring is coated with non-flective paint, unlike some of the older rings with highly reflective surface. 5 |
