Brother 2130 Print Test Page

The colors were off so I ran a test page which indicated a problem with the cyan and magenta print head. The replacement was easy to install and solved the problem. 5 |

I will have to say this Epson printer is my new favorite. I currently own a Brother laser printer and while it's speedy, it doesn't have all the features this Epson printer does! For one, it lacks the wireless printing capabilities. It also doesn't have a scanner! One thing I had always wanted is to be able to print documents straight from my phone. And now I can! AND I don't even have to be nearby to do so. I was worried I wouldn't be able to utilize it with my iPhone without AirPrint but I was wrong. Setting up was easier than expected! I popped in the CD, and followed all the instructions which were super easy. I love that it gives the option to print out a test page. I have a Windows desktop and I also have a MacBook Air. I love that the instructions also made a note on how to download the software for those that lack CD drives. I will have to say it took less than 10 mins to install in both computers to printing out the test page. It was just that quick! The quality of the prints and scans are clear and easy to read. The ink is a deep color and it dries very quickly. I haven't noticed any smudging or fuzziness. I will happily choose to use this Epson printer over my Brother printer over and over. One thing I do like but others may not is that the printer makes a little bit of a loud sound while it's printing. I can hear it from across the room. But I love it! It assures me that my documents have printed when I want them to. A con I will mention is that I wish the opening to grab the papers was facing the same way as the small screen. It feels awkward pulling the sheets in the opposite direction. This is a review for the Epson EcoTank M-2170 Monochrome All-in-One Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. 5 |

I use this size mostly for test prints (two to a page) before printing on larger paper. 5 |

My problems were in getting the printer setup and printing. Specifically installing the software. I am not new to this having done IT work previously. This is obviously a new machine and that seemed to be the major problem. Plus I was hampered by slow download speeds as I have a satellite connection. First off I couldn't find this printer to load the proper software, it was the second day before I found it. I kept trying to install the software and drivers but the data was not getting to the machine, no drivers were installed. On the 4th morning I went to the support site and got a new front page which took me to the downloads for this printer. Most of this was the same methods I'd been following already but there was a difference at the end because this time all the data transferred to the machine like it was supposed to. This machine prints documents very fast and full page photos only slightly slower. The images are very sharp and clear. The photos print exactly as the original. Now that it is setup I am very pleased with this product. I think Brother specifically provided me with new software that worked. Perhaps I was among the first to try and load this software and the process had a glitch or two. So, Thanks Brother for the assistance. 5 |

This is one of the best choices out there for a B&W All-in-One. We go through a Brother All-n-One every two years and get the rated 100,000 pages out of them with zero down-time and no breakdowns. This is a communal, open-access device and is used for printing, copying, scanning, and Faxing. Just use any decent multi-purpose copy paper. Although the DR-820 drum is rated for only 30,000 pages you can actually get 50,000 pages out of them if you read the fine print in the Brother literature. Calculating using the B&H cost for the L5800DW, TN-850 toners and a DR-820 drum I found that it costs about 2.5 cents/page for each page printed over the 100,000 page lifetime not counting the cost of the paper. The latest Brother 5000-series (like the L5800DW) are very speedy in printing and scanning and just about jam-proof. The one advantage of the L5800DW is that it does not have a duplexing document feeder which can be prone to jamming if you try to feed junky paper documents into them. The duplex, two-sided printing works flawlessly over the 100,000 lifetime. The only reason we bought this one is that it replaced the equivalent Brother All-in-One unit that I bought 9 years ago and had made its 100,000 pages. 5 |

OEM toner for Brother printer. Works well, has reasonable page count. Nice if it was less expensive. 5 |

I bought a Brother HL-L6200DW printer that came with a 3000-page toner cartridge built-in, so it will be a while before I actually try this toner cartridge. From what I understand, this cartridge is good for 12000 pages, so it should cover my needs for a long while after the original has been depleted. 5 |

I purchased this cartridge based upon the postive experiences with the first TN450 High Yield Toner Black Cartridge used in my Brother HL2270DW Laser Printer. Based upon the replaced cartridge, the estimated 2600-page life was reasonably close. Expect the same from this one. Although a little pricey, with discounts my cost per page runs about $.018. Printing is crisp and dark. Brother makes an excellent printer system, and offers free mail-in recycling for spent cartridges. 5 |
