Brother Printer Driver Usb Connection To Laptop

One day a USB C gen 3 connection failed causing a tethering program to crash as only gen 2 was available. I used this adapter to connect to a USB A gen 3 port to get the job done. It turned out that Microsoft (in their inimitable way) had replaced the manufacturers USB C driver with a generic driver during an update that caused the ASMedia 3142 to provide Gen 2 service only.

Very interesting design and concept. It is a a two part setup that attached to your laptop with magnets. And then it will slide out and be the second monitor as shown. Worked right out tic the box and no need to download any drivers or software for my HP. It is connected through USB C and no driver is needed but there is a USB adapter to the cord and that will require a driver down load. The screen slides out nicely and then it pivots as well to help add visual adjustments based on the laptop set up. Is a great addition to have for working remote and having a small simple second screen to become more productive and navigate faster.

No knock on the product, but I had hoped it would connect my USB -B ported laser printer to the USB-C port on my notebook. It's an older printer and the port is USB 2.0 standard. The description for this cable said USB 2.0 so I hoped Windows would recognize the printer. The printer manufacturer (very well known Brand) does not provide a driver for Windows 10, but their Website says Windows 10 comes with a driver for it. This printer worked with my previous Windows 10 notebook via USB, and via ethernet worked with previous Windows versions back to XP. The computer would see the printer and list it's name, but would not install the driver. I tried a few other USB adapters with same problem and no luck. Turns out you need software in addition to hardware to make this conversion. I have since obtained a Startech port adapter for connecting my notebook to dual monitors, mouse, keyboard, ethernet, and the printer all through the notebooks 1 free USB-C port. Had to install drivers for the port adapter first, but now everything is working great. If you have a new printer, with installation software, this cable may work just fine. If your printer is old, you will need a port adapter with software.

A bit difficult to find the Mac driver online--it is compatible!--and strange that it doesn't come with a USB/USB-A cord. That aside, this is a bargain of a printer. Easy setup, economical with ink (which is included!), quiet, fairly swift, compact, and Canon quality printing. The pandemic has made it difficult to get to the library or office store, so being able to do my own paperwork and essays at home (and being the friend with a printer) was priority without a hulking multifunction device taking up space. I am so happy with this device.

Bought this for a new Asus laptop to give me an extra USB A connection. Works flawlessly.

I needed to connect my Brother printer to my WIFI system, and the only was was to connect the printer to my computer with a USB cable. The 10 foot cable let me do this without relocating the printer. The cable worked fine and was well worth the money, and I am sure I will find a use for it in the future. Thanks B&H for your great prices and fast shipping.

We bought this to replace a different printer which never worked via wifi. We were constantly unplugging to re boot. Installating this printer was not fast and a bit frustrating at times. Forget the paper instructions and use the online tutorial(s). You will need to buy a specific USB cable. You may need to download updates and drivers for windows 11. Linking to our Androids was extremely easy. I'm still working on getting it to print whilst I'm away from my own wifi. It's probably not hard to do-and not a real priority at this time. That said, when first using the printer with the Android/pc/laptop all three brought up the previous printer. I had to set them to recognize the Brother, not the "Brother USB". Not hard to do. It is reasonably priced, reasonably fast and the quality is very good. 4x6 photos are very "good" though I've not enlarged one to 8x10 yet. I've printed 100 plus B&W and at least a dozen colour with the ink levels barely having moved. Buy the xl cartridges right away though. ALL printers like ink! So overall we are most pleased with this printer.

The new Brother printer I bought here at B&H recommends using a 6-foot usb cable, however I needed a longer length, so I bought this 15-foot version. It works without a hitch.

I had an earlier Brother P-touch Cube printer, and liked it. But this one is so much better. The printing is so fast, the resolution is so high. I also like that it's USB C rather than micro-USB, and that it doesn't need print drivers in Mac OS. I thought the ability to use 36mm labels would be its best feature but honestly, I rarely need those.
