Brother Printer Manual Feed Load Paper

No manual feed for paper available; have to open the drawer and insert paper 5 |

It took a little time to get the hang of it. The manual was of little help. But once you become familiar with it, you have to love it. I never knew that a printer could have continues feed. No longer limited to a pre determined length. Really a great feature.K 5 |

This is a beautiful paper that prints without any problem on my Epson R2400 manual feed, unlike nonEpson papers of similar weight. Epson does not provide ICC profiles on this paper for the R2400 unfortunately but until I can upgrade the printer I have used the Ultrasmooth Fine Art profile and that seems to work well. The paper is very bright, with great color separation and is an excellent value for a fine art paper. 5 |

My problems were in getting the printer setup and printing. Specifically installing the software. I am not new to this having done IT work previously. This is obviously a new machine and that seemed to be the major problem. Plus I was hampered by slow download speeds as I have a satellite connection. First off I couldn't find this printer to load the proper software, it was the second day before I found it. I kept trying to install the software and drivers but the data was not getting to the machine, no drivers were installed. On the 4th morning I went to the support site and got a new front page which took me to the downloads for this printer. Most of this was the same methods I'd been following already but there was a difference at the end because this time all the data transferred to the machine like it was supposed to. This machine prints documents very fast and full page photos only slightly slower. The images are very sharp and clear. The photos print exactly as the original. Now that it is setup I am very pleased with this product. I think Brother specifically provided me with new software that worked. Perhaps I was among the first to try and load this software and the process had a glitch or two. So, Thanks Brother for the assistance. 5 |

Printer works as expected, simple to load with paper and ribbon. Works very well with the Mac printer driver. Prints have great color and they print pretty quickly. I have printed to it from Lightroom, Capture 1 Pro and Photoshop and had no issues. 5 |

After several customer support time, and repeated on-line visits to web site, all seems to be working as described. When asked about user manual, said I could download, not available in orderto save paper. Yes, saves paper for Brother, but uses a lot of paper and toner to print the complete user manual. Does not save paper or toner for me, just for Brother 5 |

I purchased this as an upgrade from my 3750 for 2 main reasons: The screen is larger and I wanted the rear feed and rear slot option. (The rear feed will feed paper from a pop-up area located at back of machine. The rear SLOT will feed paper straight through from back to front (after removing a piece and making an adjustment). The rear slot will print on media up to 1.3mm thick. Anyway - after setting up the printer, I was anxious to experiment with these features (mostly the rear slot, as I wanted to create my own decorative card stock for use with die cutter). I could only find ONE sentence in the entire user manual that addressed selecting the rear slot, and it was a NOTE: It said to select the rear slot, choose the option with the appropriate paper size. I kept choosing 8.5 x 11, but did not realize there were further options. (See first photo). However, to choose rear feed, you go into different settings, first choosing layout, then printer settings, then paper source. See 2nd photo. I think these 2 options should be located in the same place. (I use MacBook with Monterey). I also found one other limitation working from the printer console. There is a nice feature to print decorative card stock or lined paper. If you choose lined paper, you are offered the rear slot as an optional paper source; if you choose decorative card stock, you are not! I believe the rear feeder (which loads and prints without curving the paper around the way the main feeder does) will meet most of my card stock printing needs. After much research, this feeder can handle card stock of 100 pounds (or more). 5 |

The paper is excellent as a COA, and the hologram really makes the COA professional in appearance. Make sure to check the printer's feed with regular paper first, as every one is different and you want to make the watermark's orientation match the text. 5 |

This printer is incredibly easy to set up and use upon the first try! It prints incredibly fast and the paper feed pulls each page straight (without jamming). The latter being an issue on many machines I`ve used in the past. I should mention that I was offered a free sample to use in exchange for my unbiased review. My favorite feature of the Canon Maxify MB5420 is the duplex printing option. It was completely seamless and printed so professionally. Also, I have printed over a hundred pages with hardly any ink being used, so the yield is truly high. Additionally, the look of the printer is very sleek. It is compact, black, and modern. Overall, I am overjoyed with the quality, quickness, design, and functionality of this printer. I highly recommend. 5 |
