Machine worked great for first 2 weeks, then started showing a gray background on printed pages. That continued for a month when I called Brother customer service and explained the problem. They sent me a 2 page instruction to correct the problem. Followed directions and no solution achieved. I figured it was either the toner cartridge or the drum assembly. Called Brother again and the tech said I would have to purchase a new toner cart. since that was a consumable and not under warranty. He then said if I had purchased directly from Brother, they would replace the cartridge but because I did not purchase directly from them, they could not replace the cartridge. I then asked for a supervisor, explained situation, and he stated they would send me a new cartridge; that Brother would honor my warranty no matter where I purchased the machine. Couple days later, a new cartridge arrived and my machine has worked flawlessly since. 5 |
