My father passed 30 years ago and had about 2000 slides of Family, Friends, and Events all the way back to the 1940's. I purchased this scanner and gave it to my Brother (who had possession of the slides) for Christmas. He scanned about half of the slides up until when he moved out of the house and then gave it back to me. (along with the remainder of the slides) I finished Dad's slides and then scanned a couple hundred of my own. The Scanner worked flawlessly! It was a bit tough to set up, because I never read the book until I have to. Read the book and install it EXACTLY in the order they say, and you will be fine. I have an older Photo program called PaintShop Pro that I did all the cropping and corrections with after I scanned the slides to Tiffs with the scanner.
