I bought these because my wife's laptop broke the internal power connection. We needed a way to get the photos off the laptop and of course even though she has an extranal hard drive she never backed them up. Well I wasn't going to pay a bunch of money getting the old Toshiba fixed then I came across this little doo hickie and it worked like a charm! I already had the VLC media player ap installed on my windows 10 laptop, so when I plugged this into my USB port straight from the box, it was recognized and functioned immediately. If your computer doesn't have a driver, Transcend provides one free, but you must download one in order to use external drives--perhaps that's why some users claim their player wouldn't work? 5 |
