I have found the extender to be quick on focus and very sharp even in the corners. It is very clear and crisp even when extra range is needed using the 1.6 crop sensor, 1.4x extender and 100-500 mm lens in combination. Doing so will extend the 500 mm to ~1120 mm, it does require a fast shutter. I use the whole range of options for bird photography and am quit pleased with the results. 5 |
