Budget Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

I have bought several of these microphones throughout the years. I don't know another large-diaphragm condenser microphone with this price point that records as good audio as the NT-1. It has almost no noise to speak of. I pair it with a Scarlett 4i4 and the quality I get is incredible. Couldn't recommend this enough. 5 |

I have an old original EV PL 76A electret condenser microphone. It is still one of the best sounding, small diaphragm, condenser microphones from the early 70's. Originally it had an internal foam pop filter built into the inside of the protective grille cover over the diaphragm element. Over the years this foam filter dried out and fell apart. I use this microphone quite a bit for voiceover work and I needed to replace the foam. I looked everywhere for a replacement. I finally checked B&H for generic pop filters. I was surprised to see that B&H actually had the large over the outside grey pop filter made by EV as an accessory for this microphone. I bought it immediately. It fits perfectly, looks great, the price was right and does exactly what a wind screen/pop filter is supposed to do. Thanks B&H for always having what I need. 5 |

Bought it and using it as an alternative large diaphragm condenser microphone for vocal and acoustic recording. Definitely a difference in character of sound and quality as compared to staple SM 58 Shure. Good with details and such. One slight gripe may be the limited peaking capacity. the -10dB pad is there but I personally don't believe that I should be using it most of the time. Loud recording applications may feel some limitations, however its value to performance ratio is a definite plus. Good well rounded function and use so far! If you're using it in the home studio make sure you have some isolation proofing done b/c it will pick up the echos. (and also thin window pane means you'll get car traffic noise picked up in this thing - very sensitive!) 5 |

Absolutely fantastic stereo mic holder. I’m using it for two Soyuz 013 small diaphragm condenser microphones. The hardware is all metal and extremely solid feeling. The distance and angle markings are easily legible and it is easy to adjust. The fittings feel very snug and secure. I’m Very happy with this and imo it’s so much nicer than anything I was able to find at a similar price point. 5 |

I bought this case to hold a small diaphragm condenser mic, and it fits perfectly. Plenty of protection and so affordable. I've already purchased the larger size and plan to get yet another of those. 5 |

This is the best value in low cost small diaphragm condenser microphones that I have found. Offering both Omni and Cardioid capsules, other microphones usually cost more than double the price for similar features. There is no switch to click to change the mic pattern; one simply has to unscrew the capsule and change it that way. I use it for recording acoustic guitar and find the sound to be perfect and I am very happy with my purchase. I'm so glad I got this mic as it is now discontinued....so get em' while they're still to be found. As a side note, this microphone is almost identical to the Superlux 241. 5 |

I use this product as a mic cable to patch two large diaphragm condenser mics to a small mixer and to run through a clear com system and it works great!! The Audio-technica Premium Microphone Cable is what I will be purchasing in the future when it comes to balanced XLR cables. 5 |

I researched for weeks looking for a small diaphragm condenser that would work well indoors as well as outdoors. Our primary use is for indoor dialogue (interviews, etc.). Wound up renting this Sanken mic for a day to test it out and immediately loved it. Bought it that day. The room we do most of our recordings in has some sound treatment and is fairly dead acoustically. The CS-M1 has a beautiful off-axis roll-off and tone and sounds very natural. Very little EQ needs to be done for our purposes. Has a little more top-end presence and no heavy bottom end. Great RF rejection and reportedly works well in high humidity settings. Super small and light. Very little handling noise. I love the supercardioid pattern which is perfect for our needs. Super quiet mic. Sounds beautiful. I will definitely be buying a second one when I get the $. No regrets. 5 |

This is honestly the best PC microphone you can buy on a budget. I haven't found any better condenser microphones for a cheaper price that actually works well with a PC. Pros: - Crystal clear sound - You plug it into your PC and it works out of the box, no setup needed - Only $50 - best mic in the price range 5 |
