Building A Home Media Gaming Computer

Besides building systems for myself, I also build them for clients. I have been getting mostly AMD requests since the Ryzen line started gaining traction in the market over the last couple years. When I build multi media or gaming machines, the 3700X has been a great choice for both budget and performance gaming and media creation systems.

Building a gaming computer and bought this. This CPU crushes. I've had no problems running anything I need to run even with multiples processes going.

Having been in computer building/IT and usage both professionally and as a home user, I only trust SanDisk whether for cameras, computers, or electronics requiring a memory card. I have never had one fail on me (obviously no company is perfect and manufacturing problems can hit anyone), but for over 20 years and too many memory cards to count, never a failure for me, so why change now?

I was looking for a simple, inexpensive (relatively) way to transfer my old home movies to either DVDs or other media for use on my computer or TV/DVD player. This is just what I wanted. The majority of my movies are 50' reel super 8 mm and have been no problem transferring - I just followed the instructions in the manual and video without a hitch. My unit has a framing feature which allows shifting of the of the image to eliminate overlapping frames - very handy. Did I expect theater or HD quality images - of course not - this unit has reproduced my movies to a quality equal to the source - 30 to 40 year old HOME movies. I've been using WIndows MovieMaker to edit them and adjust the speed.

I bought a new monitor to accompany the higher processor this workstation has. The processor is an I7 and works swiftly with ZERO lag whether I am playing a video game or if I am doing a multiple page worksheet. The workstation is compact and takes up very little space. I am impressed with the overall function of this pc and highly recommend it!
