These were my first purchase toward building my own VO recording studio in my apartment and I love them. I don't yet have all the equipment I need for recording so for now, I use them for listening to music but they're great. I'm just getting started in VO work so these have been recommended for real-time monitoring by an instructor. I'll probably upgrade at some point to an even better pair but by far the nicest set I've ever personally owned. 5 |

Holy crackerjack prize, this blimp & suspension system makes most of my problems go away! Though I'm still not as athletic as I'd like to be and my stamina fades fairly quickly, this blimp makes me forget all about my inadequacies whilst recording. The suspension system is not 100% bump-noise-proof, so don't expect it to be some magical piece of equipment. It IS about 94% effective, barring your own clumsy movements, but spend 10 seconds listening with your headphones on to know what will fly and what you shouldn't do. It's not an inconvenience to adjust your recording tracking movements a little. I tested the blimp out on city streets during a particularly windy day and was, wait for it, BLOWN AWAY (rimshot). But seriously folks, if not for the sound of traffic, I could have finally recorded my dream wind sounds. I didn't know it would be so easy. This should be a main part of any sound designers field record kit. The dead wombat DOES shed and WILL shed on you and whatever it touches, so have a lint roller ready for when that happens. It doesn't seem to be losing any hair in an impactful way, though, so don't worry when this happens. 5 |
