The Macs with Apple Silicon are crazy fast. While getting ready for the replacement of my 2016 MBP 15, I ran did speed tests using Micromat's TechTools Pro 14. The write/read speeds for the fusion drive was around 100 MB/sec. The new M1 MBP 13 SSD is around 3,300/2,300 MB/sec! My next fastest drive is a Samsung T7 SSD at around 750 MB/sec. write/read. The keyboard is now comfortable. I got 16 GB of RAM but the chip is so efficient, I think 8 GB is all most need. 5 |
