Buy Canon Lenses

Look, I've read all the reviews on this lens and almost didn't buy it!.. I went down to B&H and first bought the Canon 70-200 2.8 lens. I then brought it back the next day!. Yes, it was a fantastic lens, but for me, it wasn't WIDE enough!.. So, I exchanged it for the sensational Canon 17-55 2.8 IS lens!.. I got home, took a look at what it did, and it blew me away!.. what a freaking great lens!. But, I also had to take it back to B&H because it didn't zoom far enough!. I exchanged it for THE RIGHT LENS FOR ME!...I got the Canon 18-200 2.8 IS lens and I love it!..WHY?...because it simply did what the other lenses could NOT DO!.. meaning: it went from very WIDE and zoomed out enough to suit me.. So, yes, I had returned two (2) GREAT Canon lenses that had gotten sensational reviews, for one that had just fairly good reviews!... Am I crazy?....reading this you might think so!..but, I'm happy with this lens because IT DOES WHAT I WANT IT TO!.. and, as good as the other great lenses that I returned ,simply would not do what I wanted it to!.. I'm a passionate AMATEUR, but If I was a PRO, I'd have to buy quite a few lenses in order to go WIDE, then go to 200mm... of course if I could afford it that would have been the way I would have gone!.. But this lens had Image Stabilization, so I can gain three to four stops which makes it decent for shooting handheld in low light, which I do a lot of!.. So, if money is now object to you, then don't buy this lens!. Me?.....I'm now happy as a pig in mud I did buy it!.

I have a collection of 77mm filters to go with my L lenses. I picked up a Canon 18-200 for a walk-around lens. Its 72mm. The choice -- buy new polarizing, ND, graduated ND, and warming filters or buy the step up ring. Easy choice. This Tiffen ring is well constructed and holds my filters just fine. Now I have enough extra $$ to buy other photo gear....or spend on my wife on vacation!

This is a great adaptor. Good communication w/ my Canon lenses unlike a more expensive adaptor currently on the market. This is the adaptor to buy. Sturdy, well made, able to update on line.

I only buy top of the line filters for my lenses, this one currently lives on the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro. I do take the filter off for some shots but mainly leave it there for lens protection.

I was going to buy the Canon 35mm lens, but am happy I opted for this instead. Quality is excellent. Yes, heavier than most, but it hasn't been a huge issue and I've gone on several hikes with it, carrying it, etc. No problems with camera shake or focus issues (which I have had with Canon lenses). I tested my ability to hand hold down to 1/15 and was able to do it (never with the Canon lens). The manual focus is not a problem ... as another reviewer suggested, I use the focus assist (green light in the viewfinder). The resulting photos are stunning and I've eliminated a lot of issues I was having with Canon lenses, which frees me up to focus on more important things, like getting the shot. I'm probably going to trade up my Canon 50mm lens for the Zeiss eventually. Other things: background blur is nice, chromatic aberration is definitely a thing under certain conditions, if you want a light-weight lens, then reconsider. But, this lens has brought my confidence in my photographic ability back (because I was having so many performance issues with the Canon lenses I was doubting myself). Glad I bought this and would recommend it.

One of DEE best canon lenses every made. It is so versatile and can be used in so many different photography situation. Great Product, and that supersedes my expectation. A nice protective filter is a must to protect your investment. I would also definitely add the EF 1.4x II Extender whey you buy this lens. it is an awesome addition to it. Nothing bad to say about this lens. People who buy this lens are aware of the weight of it, and are willing to deal with it, therefore making weight an issue to talk about is ridiculous, in my opinion. The pictures you can take with this baby, are worth it.

I love being able to use this mount adapter and polarizer with all of my lenses which have Canon EF lens mounts, regardless of objective lens size. I have a couple of wishes however: I wish that one could buy filters separately from the adaptor, rather than having to buy another one, only to get a variable neutral density filter, and I wish that I could leave the lens adapter on my R5 while I changed lenses, rather than having to remove the adapter and lens from the camera, reattaching the adapter to a different lens, and then having to reattach the new combination to the camera. Designing them as it did, Canon could look forward to greater profits, but at its customers' expense. Shame on you Canon!

I bought this to be able to use my Canon Lensbaby lenses on my Fujifilm XT4- it works perfectly and eliminates the need to buy two sets of lenses.

A looked at a number of similar lenses and was going to buy a cheaper one but after reviewing the specs of each, I came back to Canon. Although the f2.8s from other companies are attractive but realized that most of my shots were taken at f4.0 and above. This a quality lens on just about every count and compliments my Canon f4.0 70 - 200mm. After about 10 days of shooting, I was once again reminded about the photog's mantra: its all about the glass.

I think we all want a deeply discounted used lens that will be almost as good as a new product. The problem is we turn to large auction websites hoping for that good discount. Well for me the auction sites have failed me way too many times. Example: buy a expensive used lens from “auction-bay” and lens comes and condition looks good but oh no the lens is decentered and not just slightly. The left side of image is out of focus. So is that the fault of the seller or shipper? Not sure but what I do know is all I’ve been getting are decentered lenses from buying used. So if you want to save a lot of money and don’t mind a decentered lens then go ahead. I want my lenses to be performing as good as the best samples out there! Now for Canon’s refurbished lenses I only have one experience and it’s been wonderful. Lens looks brand new like everyone’s been saying. Only difference is you don’t have the original box, but you don’t need it anyway as the lens I have has no reason to be sold anytime soon. The lens was extremely well packaged for the planned bumps and throw around that are possible on shipping carriers. I’m only guessing lenses get decentered elements after ppl ship them in regular padding and the lens gets shocked too much from packages being tossed around and some elements get out of alignment. So my final verdict. I definitely will buy refurbished lenses again from Canon. I won’t be buying new unless there aren’t any refurbs available.
