Works like a rear lens cap. Used it to update the firmware on my 30mm HSM Art, and it was a breeze. Instantly saw that my firmware was outdated and updated seamlessly. Definitely need this if you have a D5300 with any outdated art lens. 5 |

Since the camera comes without this outdated cable, I was reluctant to buy this Sony. I needed to connect the camera to a device that had the three prong red, white and yellow connections. Best Buy did not know of any such cable that would connect to the HMI port. Said new TVs and electronics did not use the three prong connectors, and I would need some complicated adaptors to make this connection. This Sony A/V Cable solved my problem, and I can now connect the Sony to my recording machine to play back my movies and to copy on DVD disc what I have recorded with my Sony.
