If performance and speed is what you're after, then look no further you have just found the Crème de la crème.

So before you buy any gear you need to do your research. And the Senneheiser 416 is a hard mic to beat. It's highly directional and has a great pick-up range. However it is also extremely expensive. And the technology of the 416 hasn't changed in thirty years. The S-Mic 2 sounds just as good if not even a little bit better. And it is light years ahead of other, less expensive alternatives. I'd highly recommend this mic for anyone that does a lot of on-location shooting. It is the perfect choice for anyone looking to shoot a lot of interviews.

Bought a 416, didn't have the case, so I decided why not buy the original since I have the foam windshield and mic stand attachment anyways (for those looking for just a dust protector, the Sennheiser Zippered pouch would do just fine.) What can I say, it's exactly the same as they ship the 416 in new. I can see the hinge issues others where mentioning, but it's a vintage design, such a hinge design used to be very popular especially for mic cases. Good part is it's made in Germany, so foam feels of higher quality and less worry about fast foam degradation. Btw, for those buying, throw in a silicon packet or two if in a humid climate.

Has not clogged or loaded up - yet anyway - after 3 months use. Watch the expiration date when you buy. Buy yourself at a store near you. Online - the dates can be very close and give you little time to use it all. Then again tanks tend to be small when you print many 11X14,,,

I and my friend are 73 years old....We love it and feel like it would scare the cr##p our of an attacker on the grocery parking lot or else. It is like a little hand granade LOL
