Buying A Universal Remote

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After buying a "universal" docking station that would work intermittently with my setup of 2 external monitors + laptop screen, I bought this one. It cost nearly twice as much but it actually works and is worth every penny. As a non-IT guy, I just wanted something that is simple to use and this is it.

I bought an aftermarket universal battery charger that was suppose to work with the Cannon batteries. It showed that it had charged the battery but when the battery was attached to the video camera it showed that the battery required a charge. Lost a whole day of live action video. I thought that I needed a new battery. After buying this product I charged the same battery and found that this charger fully charged the batteries. I have not lost any action videos since I started using this charger due to uncharged batteries. I highly recommend buying this charger over a universal charger.

The whole purpose of buying the Universal Blimp mount adapter is to shave some weight off my boom pole. I bought 2 pieces. One is to replace my Blimp mount. For the other piece, I did a hybrid modification to my Rode PG2 mount. I replaced the bulky PG2 mount with the bottom half of the Blimp mount adapter. The result is superb. A lighter and new PG2 mount. I simply love it.

Fits nicely in your hand and it's bigger than our normal remote. So I it's been harder to lose lol. Didn't have any problems getting it set up. Pretty self-explanatory. It's a must-have!

The One for All URC3680 Essential 8-Device Antimicrobial Backlit Universal Remote was super easy to setup and use. Really like the antimicrobial feature and the backlit keyboard makes it easier to use in the evening.

The remote is much easier than the universal remotes I have used in the past. I find the Roku remote is quickly learned and easy to manage. The Roku unit has performed flawlessly. We've had our unit in place for about 4 weeks now and we are very happy.
