The enclosure worked great with my three and a half inch Iron Wolf Drive allowing me to initialize my drive externally.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

This is a bare drive ready to install. All that needs to be done is hook up the power and SATA cable then initialize and format the drive. The drive is nice and quiet. It was designed to be running all day every day for years, unlike some consumer drives.

The first G-RAID may have been damaged in shipping. When connected it made a loud squealing noise, so I returned it without any hassles. The second one worked, and it is FAST. I have made a couple of exactly similar backups to a Lacie 4big Quadro and the G-RAID. The G-RAID is about twice as fast. For video editing where I need quick access to files, this thing works like a champ. It has a very very slight vibration as it spins up, but it is not so loud as to be heard if recording, certainly no louder than the Lacie external drives. It this thing lasts I will be very pleased. One point, if you use this for Windows and not MAC, make sure you initialize the drive using the USB cable, afterwards you can swith to eSATA. If you initialize using the eSATA cable, the drive is finicky when initializing, and you may not see all of the storage capacity. Also buy yourself a longer eSATA cable to more easily position the drive away from the workspace. eSATA cables are inexpensive.

The drive was great, easy to format or initialize set up the partition via an enclosure and then swap out the original D drive

I bought this Flash Drive as a traveling backup for my photos. Typically, I take between 100Gb and 200Gb of photos on a trip so this gives me plenty of space. The small size is ideal as is the light weight. I connected it to my MacbookPro USB-C using a Uni 4 port USB-A to USB-C hub with no problems.I ran a quick test when I received the drive and it took 2 minutes to transfer just over 15Gb (212 files) from my MacbookPro to the drive. So it's pretty fast. It took just two days to get here (Arizona) from B&H and was cheaper than buying from Amazon. So I'm a happy camper.
