Cable Tv Tuner For Computer Monitor

I bought 2 of these to go with my new computer. I wasn't sure that the large size of the monitors would work for my space but they are, in a word, fantastic. I must admit that I've been a Samsung fan for many years now and I find that their products are a great value. They are not the cheapest but for the price they are the best. Image quality beats their competitors for all video devices. The only complaint I have is the HDMI cables that came with the monitors are cheap and seem to cause colours to bleed. I replaced them with better cables and the problem seems to be fixed. It took me a while to figure out how to pair a remote with a given monitor but now that I got it worked out it's all good. I would recommend these to anyone. They would be especially good for someone with a small space for a computer and a TV. They really are TVs without a tuner but if you use internet services like Netflix or cable TV a tuner is useless anyway 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the LG 32GP850-B because I capture gameplay footage in HDR and edit that footage. My previous monitor didn’t have HDR so it was tough to see what I was editing until I uploaded it and watched it on a TV. This monitor has HDR so I can actually see what I’m editing correctly. This monitor is 1440p so I can see images nice and clearly and has a 165Hz refresh rate so games look amazing on it. On top of that, you can overclock the monitor to display at 185Hz which makes it even faster. I always plug my computer into a monitor using DisplayPort because it supports the highest frame rate and the monitor’s G-SYNC technology which reduces screen tearing when frame rates are higher. It also supports FreeSync if you have an AMD graphics card. This monitor is a monster in size at 32”. It is practically a small TV, perfect for streaming Netflix and Hulu. The Netflix Windows app even let me watch in HDR! You can also plug a USB cable from the monitor to your computer and use the high-speed USB ports on the monitor. The monitor comes with cables too, so you don’t need to go out and purchase a DisplayPort cable or an HDMI cable to use those features. It can also rotate 90 degrees to give you a smart phone orientation, if you are more comfortable with that for work documents in multiple windows. I am extremely happy with this monitor and would recommend it to all of my friends and family. DISCLAIMER: I received this product at a discounted price in return for my honest review. 5 |

I needed an HDMI cable to connect my new TV/Monitor to my new computer. I didn't need a fancy cable; just a simple, basic one. This Pearstone cable is very similar to store brands I see locally at a third of the price. Why pay more for something when you don't have to? 5 |

I used this cable to connect an older Mac desktop computer with a white DVI monitor output to a flat screen HD TV HDMI port. This worked AOK. Adjustments to the TV contrast and brightness resulted in a very nice display. The three-foot length seems ample and limits additional can-of-worms effect at the back of the desk! 5 |

Bought this to add another cable tv tuner without getting a cable box. Used as a second tv in a room for sports programs. I couldn’t hook up another cable box in the room for the second tv. Works well with my Spectrum service. I know this is not the normal setup. Most just cut the cable. Downloaded Spectrum app and it works well. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very clear picture, which in my opinion is just that much more important when you are talkin' a 75". When watching 4k content it looks fantastic! Watching sports is soooo much better. No problems with set-up, or anything else. I find the user interface very user friendly and intuitive and my wife has been able to "adapt". This a biggie! I haven't had to look at the on-line manual but a few times to look-up some more obscure features. Having a TV this big is great for us old people as our eyesight isn't the best and it makes it easier to read any text that appears on the screen. I pick up aprox 40 OTA channels and a little icing on the cake is the TV comes with a few hundred IP channels (available above the regular OTA channels - 101-999 I think) provided by a company called Xumo. Google "xumo channel lineup" No problems with streaming - I use Fire TV as my streaming device, so I don't use any of the apps directly available on the TV itself. We have been able to get rid of our cable TV service! I elected to hardwire to my router, but the TV WIFI worked fine before I hooked up the cable to the router - which is 3' from the TV. The only downside I've found is that is that the tuner doesn't support ATSC 3.0 which allows you to receive full 1080p OTA broadcast TV (which is newly available in my medium sized city with 5 stations transmitting it). To be fair, very few TVs do support this at this time (12/2020) which kinda surprises me since this is a mid-upper end model TV. ATSC 3.0 is only available in "major markets" at this time. Someone correct we if I'm wrong but I don't think this will be a software/firmware update, it will actually require hardware. I'm hoping to get around this by eventually getting a DVR that supports this new standard - the DVR tuner will essentially replace the TV's tuner. 5 |
