Calculate Unit Rate Construction

Great design - first rate quality construction!

Have used other ties these are a better unit, would suggest and rate a buy.

The tripod alone is suprisingly light, but its construction appears first rate. The ball head has similar attributes and seems to offer very secure positioning, adjustment of the frictional forces on the ball, and easy attachment of one camera using the quick release (additional release fitments are available, if desired). Rather expensive, but the cost is reflected in the unit and comparable tripods are hardly cheap. Delivery from B&H was rapid and the packaging, excellent, as expected.

It seems expensive, but is well worth the price. The construction is first-rate. This is used for fine inspection of prints and nozzle check patterns. It is easy to focus and provides a very clear undistorted image.

I don't usually rate things 5 stars, but this guy deserves it. It's got some weight to it, but only because the construction quality is outstanding. Paired with my K-5, the AF works great, even in low-light situations. It's fast at f/1.8 and very sharp wide open as well. A great walk-around lens. Sigma offers a 30mm f/1.4 for half the price, but if you want the quality of the limited glass, then it's worth the money.

This head is a bargain. The design and construction are both first rate. Very, very smooth. As is usual for Manfrotto, the operation is very easy to understand. I use it with a medium weight DSLR - no problems.

I was somewhat concerned by other reviews about some quality control issues with these units. One out of four that I ordered did not communicate with the controllers in radio slave mode. I returned it and it was promptly replaced with one which did. I bought 2 kits with controllers, and 2 single units. Having seen some of this manufacturer's less expensive units I was happily surprised with how well-built these units are. While I don't for a moment discount the significance of a 25% (20%, if you count the replacement unit) failure rate (how can they stay in business at that rate?) I can also say that they do all they are advertised to do, at a fraction of the cost of other radio controlled units. At a cost of less than 1/6 of a name-brand unit, I can even afford to risk a failure (or accidental destruction) in one of these at a rate I could not sustain with the name brands. I have been able to work up a protocol for ganging them with my older Bolts (and presumably any other unit which will fire on an optical slave) which is efficient and gives me more functional units. It works even when the purely manual units are within a sealed environment such as a softbox designed for use with speedlights.

I was able to customize my unit to fit my needs and it's just perfect. Plenty of storage and super fast response rate. Very pleased with my purchase!

Handy second unit piece. Has High and Low rate charging levels. Charge level screen is vivid and easy to read.

Works great. I'm able to fire my 580EX flash at a much higher rate with this battery pack. The unit also has slots in the case to allow you to attach it to your belt. I don't see any reason to pay a lot more for the Canon battery pack.
