Caldigit Ts3 Thunderbolt Station 3 Dock

Both the CalDigit TS3 and TS4 thunderbolt docks are fantastic but if you don't need the added speeds of the USB or TB4 ports, the TS3 is a fatastic value. It allows me to connect all my accessories and display to one device with a quick and easy one cable connection to my macbook. Inputs on the front of the unit are very handy especially the SD card reader.

After reading so many negative reviews that the M1 MacBook Pros has with the CalDigit TS4 dock (check Amazon Reviews too) I decided to not be a guinea pig and just stick with the TS3 Plus for now. I think there are still a lot of issues that need to be fixed on the newer model and it's a lottery pick on if your setup will work with the TS4 or not. The TS3 Plus has been solid working with my external LG UltraFine 31.5 monitor and 2021 MBP M1 Pro laptop. Just save yourself the time and headache and stick with the TS3 Plus until CalDigit can resolve all the issues for the newer model dock. I thought this dock would run hotter but I set it vertically and it gets a little warm. Shipping has been super fast with B&H Photo and I highly recommend buyers to get a B&H Payboo card for the tax credit.

The CalDigit TS3 dock has by far been the most reliable dock for my setup. No issues with ports dropping or power delivery to the laptop. This is not intended as a hub on the go as it requires it's own power, but the footprint is tidy and the unit in my use case does not get excessively hot. I would highly recommend the CAlDigit TS3.

CalDigit's TS 3+ Thunderbolt dock is amazing! As a longtime user of a CalDigit TS 2 dock, along with several of their beefy (and fast!) Thunderbolt cables, I knew that I would be getting top of the line performance, along with solid build quality. PC *and* Mac compatibility, too. Winning!

I use this dock station to connect to Apple Mini-2013 with Thunderbolt 2 port. The Apple Thunderbolt 3 - 2 adapter will be required. I also connect the main Bootable external SSD disk to this Dock station USB-C Gen 2 port. The read/write speed is better than the Mini USB 3.0 port. It is small enough to place on the computer table everywhere. It has a smart sleep mode when the Mini went to sleep mode. I will recommend this dock station for older or newest model type of Apple laptops or desktops for additional Thunderbolt/External display/USB port/Audio connection usage. It fits for Apple computers have (Thunderbolt/Thunderbolt 2 - with Apple Adapter)/Thunderbolt 3 port. I am very happy with this NEW dock station.

I bought this for my HP 15.6 ZBook Studio G8 Mobile Workstation. The laptop has only one USB type A, which I use for a wireless mouse and keyboard. The other I/O ports are two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4. So far, the CalDigit TS3 has worked reliably for me. The user might have to open their computer settings for audio, however, if the sound isn't coming over desired speakers. The Settings will list a selection of audio devices. In summary, I'm very happy with my CalDigit TS3 Plus dock, and I recommend it to other computer users who need more I/O selections.

This was my second CalDigit TS3 and it works great. Service was great too - timely communication and fast shipping. Would happily use B&H again and recommend to friends and family.

For my new MacBook Pro M1, I first tried purchasing Caldigit's new Element Thunderbolt 4 hub. It was nothing but an endless kernel panic with the M1 chip. Caldigit implied that was Apple's fault for their implementation of Thunderbolt 4 ports, but I didn't let them make me stick around long enough to sort out who's fault it was. I returned it, and bought this OWC one and it's been SO much better! No panics yet, sleep works fine, everything returns from sleep (whereas Caldigit's would consider my Pegasus2 RAID an erroneous disconnection everytime it slept), and it's actually really nice having SPDIF (digital) audio out, ethernet, and the card readers. I wish this had one more thunderbolt port out, but then again, I could still daisy chain a couple of my thunderbolt devices no problem. So far so great for this OWC 14-port T3 dock.

Got this for a new Caldigit TS4. Turns out Caldigit ships with a Thunderbolt 4 cable. Now I have a spare.

I have bought 7 of the TS3+ so far and would recommend it to anyone looking for a TB3 docking station. In one setup, it is solely connected to a Mac Book Pro via one TB3 cable and drives two 4k displays from it (one DP, one via the second TB3 port). I am also using it with a Dell U4919DW. And one setup has it connected to a Mac Pro via TB2.
