Calibrated Computer Monitors For Photography

I calibrated 3 monitors with this device and each one was finished quickly enough for me to repeat the process after not restoring my monitors to factory. Great product.

Calibrated two monitors for Lightroom/Photoshop usage. I started with 'basic' calibration, and it was very simple. Colors look natural with clearer separation. I didn't realize how bright I had my monitor previously. This explains why I always thought the prints were dark. I suspect it was really my monitor appearing too bright versus what the image brightness actually was. I'm more confident in the image color quality.

Things I Love: True 4k at 18 inches that is sharp! Gets bright enough to use on set (ours living strictly in post production usage) hard carrying case is sweet, Wouldn't sit on it but definitely a nice add-on has hdmi input to switch to being a regular monitor in addition to running SDI from an UltraStudio 4K Mini out of resolve, one of the reasons for picking this over more common reference monitors. But now the tough part, Calibration was HARD. Keep in mind I am not a professional calibrator but am pretty tech savvy, Spent a whole day trying with DisplayCal, next day with ColourSpace LTE Rental, and simply couldn't get great results. Results would be great when testing the calibrated profile from a software side, but as soon as loading the LUT into the monitor, results would be all over. Lilliput Customer Service was very responsive at trying to help. In order to finally get it properly calibrated I had a local calibrator come in and help out. We used Calman, dialed in settings on the display, created and loaded a LUT, then had to take an extra step of changing RGB, brightness, and contrast after to get it calibrated properly. This last step is not so standard but allowed us to final calibrate to Rec709 gamma 2.2. So calibration is DEFINITELY possible, just not as simple in my experience as some monitors, Would love to see Lilliput put out more literature on how to properly calibrate using ColourSpace (one of their partners) or update their DisplayCal directions to provide more details. Again, this could be user error, but the professional Calibrator said this was definitely a tough one. But we got it and likely could've dialed in more but ended up with a Delta e average of 1.4 which is more than good enough for my purposes! For the price EXTREMELY stoked on the feature set of this monitor and build quality. Well done Lilliput.

It is easy to use. I had 5 monitors calibrated on 3 different computers in under an hour. I calibrated the monitors a few days ago. I still marvel at how much better photos displayed on the monitors look. They not only look correct, but the colors are more clean and saturated with a pop that I have never seen before. A benefit I did not expect is that I can read text much easier now that the monitors are calibrated with this device. For example, on my laptop I used to need reading glasses to read my email on Outlook. After the calibration, the text is quite clear and I haven't needed reading glasses. I can't explain why that is true but it is.

this was a quick an easy way to get my monitors calibrated for editing. As a plus, Datacolor has a great support team and they have lots of learning videos for those who want to increase their knowledge.

I did a lot of searching for a new monitor to pair w/ a new Apple Studio. The Apple monitor they would like you to use w/ this is very expensive. I do a lot of photography processing and need something less than Apple, yet still has calibrated colors. I am shocked at how nice this ViewSonic is! 4K with Adobe/SRGB color calibration. The 32 is even more useful than expected and the price is great.

The fonts are all very sharp. After I color calibrated the monitor it works great for my photography work. With this 4K monitor I can enlarge the fonts during Zoom teaching and they are still very sharp.

Holds all 4 computer monitors very well. Each arm moves with ease.

It's nice knowing my monitor is calibrated.
