I used this on my Canon 7D mark II and it's really fast!

The information is very relevant for the Canon 7D Mark II camera. I'm glad I purchased it.

Fits perfectly on my Canon 7D Mark II.

This camera makes the 7d Mark 2 feel like a toy. This thing is a beast. The autofocus is super fast, and images are crisp. Ive shot up to ISO 10K so far without a problem. I regret not pulling the trigger sooner. Now I have to figure out how to get a second body since my 7D is now useless.

I purchased this camera as carry around camera. I have the Mark IV and 7D bodies and excellent lenses to use with them. The GX7 II is an excellent alternative. Its photos are quite good and the colors are spot on. The auto focus works well. I previously tried a Leica. What a piece of junk !! The screen on this camera is so good that I do not miss the view finder. If you want a truly excellent portable camera this is the one. It has a proven track record.

Ever since I have begun using Canon cameras, I have own the T21, the 60D, the 7D, the 7D mark ii, the 6D and 2 5D mark iii, the 5D mark iv, (not comparing the 5D mark iv, the the 5D S/R) is stands alone from each camera that I have own. The noise in low light is better, the overall picture (in camera) is better, resolution, AF is quicker, it even has more function control in the menu, I haven’t used it more than a few jobs, but I cannot wait to push it to the limit!!

Upgraded my 7D to the 5D Mark IV. I shot with the Mark III for a few months as my friend let me borrow it while he went military. Mark IV sensor seems to be doing a better job as the images look sharper than the Mark III. Low light shooting is defiantly a ton better! Have not played with the video recording yet, but I am looking forward to 4k shooting. I see a few negative reviews regarding this camera. I really don't understand what they are complaining about. If you want to record videos get a video camera. This is still a DSLR and its main focus is capturing photos.

I bought this fine little camera as a Christmas gift for my husband, totally surprising him with it. He's already thrilled with the smaller size and weight - much different from his Canon 7D Mark II - and the transition from that camera to this one seems fairly easy. I got the R7 mirrorless in June and have had a great experience with it thus far, and I chose the RP for him because the two cameras share many of the same great features. Having had 6 months' experience with the R7 made setting up the RP pretty easy. In both cameras, the face and eye detection features work really well. If this bit of AI interests you as a potential buyer, my experience is that Canon has nailed it for these algorithms and I'm sure they'll only improve over time as the software engineers continue to tinker. The kit lens for the RP is certainly adequate for a range of shooting conditions that a hobbyist or semi-skilled photographer might encounter, but of course a maximum aperture of at least 2.8 is to be preferred for greater versatility in shooting conditions. As a high-school sports professional shooter, I have a wide array of Canon lenses that can be swapped around among the two 7D Mark II bodies and now the two RP bodies, so having the kit lens for the RP for my husband as a walking around lens with max of f4-7.1 isn't a huge disadvantage. Plus, the Canon R-mount adapter ring is reasonably priced and also is nothing but air, as is said, so there's no downside to using older lenses except for their weight. The RP is a very nice way to introduce a skilled hobbyist to the world of mirrorless photography in a camera loaded with features at an excellent price point.

This camera is a beast. All of my colleagues shoot with either the 5D Mark II or 7D and love them. For the price-point there isn't a better digi SLR out there. It's a great high-end professional camera.

As a sports photographer, I added this to my pair of Canon 7D Mark II's, which are very good cameras for sports too. While not getting the extra 1.6x crop reach, the 1DX2 is a supreme performer in low light with high ISO. The 14 fps is an added bonus, but importantly the larger buffer for continuous shooting up to 170 RAW frames, which I would never do. Yes, a pricey camera, but the camera is made for a long term investment for covering sports. Eventually, will add another 1DX2 to my bag. This is a camera no professional sports photographer should be without.
