Camera Backpack For Long Torso

The Backlight Elite 45L is the perfect backpack for a single day out in the field. I can bring a camera body and a full arsenal of lenses: 70-200mm, 24-70mm, 17-40mm, and 180mm macro. I bought this camera backpack to replace my LowePro Trekker AW. The LowePro did not have enough torso length. So the weight was on my shoulders and spine. Ouch The Backlight 45L fits me just right. I'm 6' and this backpack has the right torso length and rides right on my hips, where it belong. The extra large lumbar support is very welcome, too. I suffer from previous thoracic back fractures, compressed lumbar discs, and a reverse shoulder replacement. I can walk with this backpack comfortably for hours. There are so many nice touches to this camera backpack, demonstrating how much thought and engineering went into it. I wish that Think Tank made a 70L camera backpack in their MindShift line for overnight camping. I'd buy it in an instant! 5 |

What else can be said about this backpack that has not been already said? Excellent bag, very comfortable, even when attaching a heavy tripod. Just make sure to adjust the torso height of the backpack according to the season. I found that in winter, with the cloth layers that I wear, I needed to change the torso height to L, while if wearing less cloth layers, I feel the backpack more comfortable, when adjusting the height to M. 5 |

Built more for a man, long torso and narrow hips but it has everything you need to pack batteries lens, filters and not have to pack the backpack. 5 |

So far I'm really enjoying this harness. I am a field ornithologist by trade and a recreational birder, and until now I never had enough hands to carry my DSLR camera in addition to my binoculars, scope & tripod, backpack, clipboard, and other gear. Now I can have it all! I hook up the binocs to one side and the camera to the other and I'm good to go. It's been perfect for birding, and it's comfortable, even when worn under a backpack. The attachments that come with the harness are a little long - I shortened them up all the way and they hang where I want but there's a long piece of extra strap hanging off. I understand there are shorter connectors available so I will try those soon. (For reference, I'm a medium-sized 5'8 woman, so a larger person might prefer the length of the included connectors.) With the 300mm lens attached, the camera does swing a bit, but not as much as I thought it would. It was mostly a problem for me when I was doing fieldwork, walking quickly for several miles... it would swing and occasionally hit the tripod I was carrying on the same side if I wasn't careful. But it was fine when I was moving more slowly and not carrying a tripod. Bottom line... The ability to drop the bins and grab the camera quickly has been a serious upgrade! Add a hip pack for my notebook and field guide and I'm birding hands-free... achievement unlocked!!! $30 well spent. 5 |

I do a fair amount of backcountry photography, logging some long days on the trail. These connectors, combined with the Op/Tech Stabilizer Strap, allow me to carry my camera rig where it's very quickly accessible, without any additional weight on my neck. When I shed the backpack, I just unclip the camera from the backpack and re-attach my Op/Tech shoulder strap. Highly recommended. 5 |

Excellent photography backpack. I already own a blue version of the older model the 16L and loved it. This newer version does not change much. The dimensions are practically the same. I initially looked around for a long time for a low profile photography backpack that would accommodate a full sized SLR (such as my 5D Mark IV). Many were adequate but just too bulky. This backpack is perfect as the height of about 6 inches just accommodates the profile of my my 5D Mark IV. The main camera compartment is able to fit a 5D Mark IV with a 24-70mm f/2.8 attached. It fits snug but the compartment is generously protected with padding on all sides so I am ok with that. I would not be able to fit much else inside the main camera compartment except for maybe a battery charger or something similar (1.5 x 4 in size). The two side pockets are about 6-7 deep and wide enough to fit a water bottle. The front tablet compartment is great and though I dont carry a tablet much it is perfect for flat things such as papers and magazines. The top compartment is very big and you can fit tons in there. For example I can fit my 70-200 f4, 24-70 f/2.8 and my 600EX-RT flash in there. Not to mention the zipper compartment which can also hold memory cards and spare batteries. The shoulder straps are very comfortable . I have used this on a day hiking trip, using the extra room for food and snacks, as well as week-long vacations as it holds a variety of equipment. I have luckily never had to use the weather proof cover but that is always a useful feature. I would highly recommend this backpack to all. It may be catered or advertised toward smaller SLRs or mirrorless cameras, but it can definitely hold a full sized camera. Keep in mind that it would NOT be able to fit a camera with a battery grip. 5 |

I have been looking for a solution to allow me to backpack a mirrorless large camera and one long lens, plus a lightweight second DSLR with wide angle lens. And of course, the related camera accessories, too. This particular Tamrac pack fits the bill. It is well designed for my needs and I especially like the tripod attachment system. It has no visible logo so it does not attract thieves. In my part of the country, Florida, it is insulated enough to give at least some protection from the Florida heat. I have used several Tamrac products and they have endured my rough treatments and expect this one will, too. 5 |

So far enjoying this backpack. I got this for my camera and a long lens attached and fits nicely along with 2 smaller lens. Plenty of room for extras and also my computer. The build seems heavy duty and the zippers smooth and strong. Nice side for carry on luggage and comfortable on my back. 5 |

I have been looking for a camera backpack and case for a long time. This combination of hard case and camera backpack is perfect when you're travelling or just want to keep your gear safe and if you're on the go where the case would hinder your movement just take out the backpack. It stores just about everything you need from long lens to wide angle and has enough space for other gear too. The SKB case is great, sturdy reliable and airline carry on. I just flew with this case overseas and it exactly fits the overhead compartment. I am very pleased with it. 5 |
