Camera Backpack Northern Lights

I photograph the Northern Lights using a gimbal mount on a tripod. This means the camera is always in the horizontal position and that's very limiting. This rotating mount works perfectly. It's sturdy. All my Canon lenses fit. I can change rotation fast to compose images of rapidly-changing Northern Lights. I love it. Which I had it 10 years ago.

After a near fiasco on a beach at 3:00 AM in Norway, shooting the Northern Lights on the only night of the trip that they appeared, I will NEVER use a third Party camera battery again. I only use the camera manufacturer's batteries. Trust me on this one! And Sony makes the best!

I bought the lens to use on a trip to Patagonia and for Northern Lights next fall.  When I first put it on my camera I didnt think the focus was working.  But it does and so quiet, great feel, a bit heavy but it operates so nicely.  My first Sigma lens and I am glad I picked this instead of the 14-24mm Nikon lens.

Unboxed it while out for the Northern Lights show that hit the US , put it on the camera (7D MkII) and it worked perfectly.. Had tripod set up, outside, and sat inside my car, randomly taking photos, Walked a good distance from it, with the antenna up, and still had no issues reaching the receiver. Great little unit, and will come in handy in the future, love being wireless!

Great lens! I use this lens for portraits, and taking pictures of the Northern Lights, and other low light situations.

I bought this lens mainly to photograph northern lights. It works like a charm and no calibration needed.

Bought this lens for picturing the northern lights in Finland. Despite many hours in -30 temps across several days, and frost on the whole lens, it kept working strong. I'm relatively new to photography, but I think I got some great shots, very sharp and full of color, plan on framing a few. My friends who are more experienced were impressed with the images. For my beginner status, I felt like this was a great value and would buy again.

Great lens for the price. Got to try it out the very first weekend with two nights of marathon northern lights, and it performed like a champ with both the Nikon D750 and D850. A bit soft around the outer edges, but that’s to be expected with a fisheye. Very happy with the purchase as I was finally able to get the entire sky in one shot! .

Purchased for photographing Northern Lights. Performs as expected and easy to use. A generic part would probably have worked, but I didn't want to take a chance.

for shooting northern lights this is great. this is the widest lens for fullframe sensor at F0.95 . I shoot northern lights realtime video with this baby, handheld thanks to IBIS, And even photo of northern lights , handheld - no tripod , at 1/5 sec shutter thanks to IBIS ... for portrait work the 45mm f/0.95 is probably better but for wider sky view this is a great lens .
