Camera Backpacks With Water Bladder

I took this pack hiking every day in Glacier Montana in July. I carried 3L of water in a bladder, towel, raincoat, lunch, first aid kit, and fishing gear. This pack held up just fine in the heat, dust, rain, and hail. The quick access side pocket was convenient. My only complaint is the bottle pockets do not fit larger containers, nalgene size.

The bag is spacious and well built . It is one of the very few out there that accomodate a bladder. I am planning to take camera gear on a 5000 foot rock climb through extreme terrain and this bag is way too big. That terrain is usually covered wearing a cemelbak. Then I might take it up the mountain and post a follow up review about if this backpack can really take the extreme outdoors while protecting camera gear.

Things I was looking for: place for tripod, place for hydration bladder, storage for mirrorless camera with 1-2 lenses, ventilation next to my back. This pack seems to fulfill all those needs!

Love this backpack! It is big enough to hold my Sony A7RIVA with my Sigma 24-70 mm lens and have enough room to hold another lens too. The camera bag can be taken out of the backpack if you only want a small camera bag. The backpack has plenty of space for items if you go on a hike with your camera equipment or you can take your camera bag out and use it solely for hiking (or anything else you need a backpack for). The sternum straps and waist belt are comfortable, and I like that it has a whistle built into the sternum strap for security. The back padding is nice and having the option to put up to a 3-liter hydration bladder is great. I am also able to fit my 15-inch laptop into the sleeve where a hydration bladder goes (if I'm not using my hydration bladder). It has a few pockets that are great and completely meets all of my needs to have my camera with me while hiking. Lowepro did a fantastic job of designing this backpack for taking pictures on the go.

I just walked a couple of miles with 20 lbs in my new Ruggard day pack and it was pretty comfortable. I was able to fit a smaller Cannon DSLR with EFS 18-55 mm f2.8 lens, 50 mm f1.4 lens, 10-18 mm f4.5 lens, battery charger and spare battery, and set of Tiffen filters with room to spare. I like being able to put on one pack strap and swing the pack in front of me allowing me to open the pack side pocket, slide out the lens case and remove the camera. Super easy and safe. I inserted a two liter bladder into the computer slot, wrapped in a plastic bag just in case of water seepage (highly unlikely if you have secured and tested the closure) There is no slot for the water tube so I had to tie a loop of cord to the hanging loop, allowing me to attach the bladder’s hook and keep the weight higher on my back. I brought both zippers up next to the bladder tube and put a small carabiner through each zipper pull, so that the bag would not unzip. Hung as in the product photos, my Manfredo Be Free tripod would not fit more than one leg in the stretchy pocket. I tried switching to the other side pocket. With an empty pack I was able to get the tripod into the pocket upside down, and then tied off the legs at the top. I was still able to insert the camera box from the other side without a problem. This will cause less wear and tear on the pocket. I had enough room to easily put in a down jacket, rain parka, hat, gloves, and had room for food, first aid, etc. A long outside pocket is perfect for miscellaneous camera gear. One of the best features is the attached black rain cover. When it is in place, you have no idea that it is covering an expensive tripod and camera equipment. Very useful feature especially when traveling on public transport. The designers clearly put a lot of thought into the photographer’s needs. Add a hook for the bladder and a hole for the drinking tube to exit the pack and it would be almost perfect.

Honestly this is a really expensive camera bag. I have use at least 5-6 different backpacks and this is the best one so far!

A must have if you're using an under water camera while ice fishing.

I just love these little backpacks for my batteries!!!!! They are perfect and I can always find my batteries rather than trying to find them in my camera bag.

Really good product. It is large, but not just a bladder and nozzle - the lanyard holes, standing base, and air intake from the rear (to prevent 'sucking' when reloading) are better-than-average design elements.

It is a bit more expensive than non-brand units, but it feels solidly made and the large bladder provides a good puff of air for blowing off dust.
