Camera Decision Rangefinder Style Mirrorless Cameras

The x100v is pretty much exactly what I expected. A rangefinder style camera with a bright, sharp lens and full manual controls. It’s substantial without being too heavy, feels like it’s made of top notch materials, and performs as expected. If you know Fuji cameras, you’ll be all set. If this is your first “nicer” camera with lots of manual controls, be prepared to spend a lot of time learning this system. The camera warms up quite a bit if you’re snapping shots in quick succession, but I have not experienced any heat warnings or experimented with battery much. Battery life is just ok. Get some spares. 5 |

Well made but note that it is quite small. I’m using it for a Lumix GX9 rangefinder style camera without lens attached and it’s snug to say the least. The material and snaps are of good quality. 5 |

I can't believe I have done without this. I can now use my older style Sony and Minolta expensive flashes on my new Sony mirrorless cameras. It locks in well and the flashes stay stable. No issues with syncing, etc. so far. 5 |

Good quality! The style is great. Good for mirrorless camera. Five stars! 5 |

I made the decision to go with this DSLR instead of a mirrorless R5. Mainly this was due to the existing investment in lenses I have, the rugged build quality, and the versatility of this camera. Of course I could get the adapter and was intrigued by mirrorless, but this camera is a different class than I was in (5D mk ii). That eventually fell apart after 11 years and did border on letting me down in Patagonia. I knew build quality was an important aspect. Autofocus and other pro camera specialties were also important. So far it's been great. Have yet to really let it rip in the field but will soon. Happy with this purchase in 2024 (despite wireless but with GPS). 5 |

Being recently retired, I find myself traveling more and more. My main camera is a nikon D90, however, it is way too heavy to carry all the time. I've been looking at mirrorless cameras for awhile and finally made the decision to purchase the Sony a6000. What a great decision! The a6000 lives up to it's reviews. Easy to use and beautiful photos. For the price you can't go wrong with this mirrorless gem. 5 |

Great quality in a small package. I am using it with two small rangefinder cameras. 5 |

I've used rangefinder cameras for many years without utilizing one of these thumbs up grips. These always struck me as a waste of money. After using this on my M10-R for a few days, I'm sold. It just makes holding the camera so much more pleasing. Makes you want to hold the camera all day even when you're not shooting. 5 |

I purchased the Leica MP with a 35mm F/2 Summicron and use this for general walk-around/travel photography. I don't consider myself a street photographer, but I've been intrigued with rangefinder cameras for quite some time. Build quality is amazing. The camera feels like a solid block of metal. I would have preferred a match needle meter instead of the LED lights, but there's really not much to complain about. I'm a left-eye shooter, so things can get a little uncomfortable with the winder, but I'm used to that from my older cameras. Holding the camera properly takes some getting used to. I found myself covering the rangefinder mirror on the right side by accident on a few occassions. Also, I wish faster shutterspeeds were available, but I understand there are limitations due to the type of shutter used. Overall, the MP is a pleasure to use, and is quickly becoming my favorite camera. 5 |

Converts camera to a compact, old school rangefinder. The M43 provides a larger image area that compact cameras, but you get a pocket size camera. Also - very good IQ. Nice and fast at f1.7. 5 |
