Camera Digital Canon Superzoom

Okay filter for digital camera superzoom.

I purchased the Hoya 55mm Ultraviolet UV Haze HD Digital filter to protect the lens of a superzoom camera. Since a superzoom camera lens is not interchangeable (unlike a digital SLR), it is particularly important to protect the lens. The Hoya filter does the job. I purchased it at about a 66% discount ($). It's specifications indicate a very high quality anti-reflection coating (transmission over 99%), so that it has very little negative impact on the performance of the camera (i.e. very little speed loss), and this also minimizes flare from the filter. Fits my 55mm lens opening with no difficulty.Although the filter also provides UV reduction, I doubt that feature is of much value for a digital camera. Unlike film cameras, I expect a consumer digital camera to have little UV sensitivity anyway, so filtering out the UV serves little purpose. However, I got a very good price, and filtering the UV also does no harm.

I use this adapter to marry a Canon 500D close-up lens to a Nikon P900 superzoom, to do telemaco work. I am happy with the quality of product, having bought a number of Heliopan rings in other sizes.

I am using it with my Fuji S5200 superzoom and I am impressed how great pictures I can get even with this old camera. Like with all macro, a lot of light, a lof of patience, and a steady hand (or a tripod) is needed, but it's truly worth it. Even the camera's lens cap fit the Raynox lens so I can protect it when it's on the camera. The only thing I do not like is that the one of DCR's own caps cannot be put on when the lens is in the adapter. Which means that I have to always remove it from the adapter after I am done wth shooting, or keep it unprotected. But it's a minor thing, unless someone needs to switch quickly often between shooting macro and normal.

I use the on my Canon EOS M mirrorless digital camera works good. all is well.
