Camera Duffle Backpack

Love the space. And the versatility from duffle to backpack is amazing. Already a huge fan!

I am a bit of a bag nut and I can say this, the duffle performed flawlessly during my road trip from Germany to Switzerland, to France, returning to Germany. Bouncing from vehicle to train to biped, the mesh internal pockets coupled with the oversized exterior pockets made accessing and stashing my phone and passport along with other items a breeze. The backpack straps worked great allowing me to to have my dog in tow on one hand while carrying extra luggage for my niece in the other. The expandable zips were surprisingly useful. When packing, I would expand the bag all the way, when finished packing would close all the zippers similar to a large compression sack. A best practice was to nurse the zipper along while using another finger to push the extra fabric in so it doesn't get snagged. In general, the expandability feature was a godsend. The clamshell design allowed for easy access and visibility of contents. While riding a train, I unknowingly through my duffle on the corner of a metal step, the duffle suffered no puncture. Excellently executed design with extreme practicality in mind, this duffle has all the right features with no frills. A solidly built duffle that looks sophisticated enough for business travel. Of note, I would shy away from this bag if you are looking for a dedicated backpack. As a backpack, it provides minimal breathability, but then again, it's a duffle.

Quality of materials is amazing. Not rly a duffle, effectively only a backpack. I love that it can compress down to a 30L. The range of 30-65L is very useful. The overall design of the bag is very well thought out. One critique is the right backpack straps scrape against my bicep a lot which is annoying but might just be a me thing rather than the bag.

These inserts are fantastic. So much so, I wish PD had more bags they could be used with. I use them in my duffle if I have to take a bunch of gear out, or in a backpack if I’m going to be doing something more strenuous. The large holds my 150-600 and 200 f/2 with room to spare.

I bought this & the smallest duffle to travel by plane for the first time in over a decade. The backpack with the Medium Came Cube was perfect for all the gear I wanted to bring, plus my iPad & some extras. Switching from luggage to camera bag was quick & easy. I doubt I'll ever use my suitcase again, unless it's for a lot of clothes on an extended trip.

The best thing about this bag for me is its ability to be carried as a duffle bag or a backpack. Having separate shoe and dirty laundry sections are a nice touch as well. I've seen some reviewers say that they would like wheels added to this bag and I understood and agreed with their reasoning - at first. However, now after having and packing this bag, as an engineer and IMHO, I can see where the addition of wheels would get in the way, add bulk/weight, and reduce the internal storage due to carry-on length restrictions (22 inches), and am glad the designers did not add them. Very well-designed bag and I'm glad I bought it and plan to buy another for my fiancé.

I'm currently using this duffle alongside the large packing cube and have it fully stuffed to max capacity with other things such as a toiletry bag, an old 2011 fat 15 inch macbook pro, mini tripod, led light and the pockets are loaded with other miscellaneous tools and travel essentials. I've had this backpack through your standard wear and tear situation such as trains, planes, busses and due to the weight of my things in it I can only use it as a backpack which works PERFECTLY for my body size and build. I noticed some other users mentioned the backpack function is not usable for them but for someone who has a slim build at 5'4'' I'm doing just fine. A regular backpack would be tearing at the seams or at the stitching where the handles are locked into, but not this bag. I'm currently using it to backpack through Japan and it has been a blessing not having any malfunctions occur or bag tear because that would make it very difficult for me to continue being mobile since it's the one and only bag I'm using. This peace of mind is essential to making a trip like this. EVEN if this bag breaks I would buy it again because of how rough I've been treating it, I'm surprised it already hasn't shredded.

So far I have two travel bags from nomadic and I LOVE this company!!!! I have the duffle/backpack carryon and I do t know how I went without it! It’s quality is above and beyond!!! I’ve used it so many times flying and it still looks and smells new!!!!! The backpack is extremely handy and a tough packable must have!!!!!

I’ve bought a bunch of items from peak design over the years (camera strap, camera clutch strap, clip, camera bag sling, 2 phone cases, wireless charging stand, and the tripod). I have never been disappointed with their products and the duffle bag is no exception. This is a perfect bag for travel and is incredibly sturdy. I also love the sage color. Ordered the wash pouch to match my duffle. Can’t wait to use my peak design products in Germany this summer!
