I used this backpacking and camping and have it clipped to my day hiking backpack. 5 |

It's a great little tripod, that can actually hold a fair amount of weight, all things considered. I use it backpacking and hiking with my RB67, which is a beast of a camera, and it acquits itself very well. The way it can get low to the ground by positioning the center column at a right angle to the body and splaying the legs is a neat trick--though admittedly this is one time the heavy camera is too much for the poor thing. But it is a travel tripod, after all. 5 |

I got this for a 5 night 45 mile backpack trip in the High Sierra so I could get DSLR shots while hiking, not just at camp. It worked great and did not bounce around with the Nikon D750 and 18-35mm G lens I was using. It was a bit difficult to attach it to my full sized backpack strap but it did go on and then was secure for the whole trip. I was using hiking poles and the camera did not get in the way of the poleing motion. I even kept it attached while climbing over boulders on some off-trail passes. My only negative is that the sliding/snapping action did get less smooth after a few days. This could be due to tiny chips in the finish after sliding it in over and over. This is a must have for backpacking with a DSLR. I've been on lots of trips where my big camera sits in my pack all day and only gets used at camp or maybe at lunch and I have a point and shoot in my pocket for quick shots while on the move. I can now get DSLR shots while hiking and even faster than pulling a small camera or phone out of my pocket. The clip is a game changer for hiking and backpacking, the only problem is now I have even more shots to sort through. 5 |

Bought this primarily for hiking and backpacking. Was worried my backpack straps would be too thick, but PD includes a longer set of screws to accommodate thicker straps. So far I am very happy as the clip stays put and doesn't slide and I do not find my mirrorless camera flops around either, it stays in position and is very comfortable, even on a thinner strapped Camelback style pack. Definitely a great way to maintain easy access to your camera while putting miles down on the trail. 5 |

I am an amateur photographer and bought this as a means to carry my DSLR on hiking/backpacking trips. I was tired of having my camera slung over my shoulder and flopping around when hiking. This mount is easy to install on the backpack strap and simple to use. Peak Design has great tutorial videos as well to help with this process. I have used it on local hikes up to 13 miles on fairly technical terrain and haven't had any issues with security or ease of use. It's definitely a game changer if you're looking for a way to carry your camera that makes getting it quick and convenient with having the piece of mind that your equipment is secure. 5 |

Great little tripod, good size to be able to carry with you hiking or backpacking. Seems to be pretty good quality and strong enough for a DLSR (D750) + 24-120mm lens if I am careful. One thing to watch out for is the tiny ball head, while being very smooth and fine once you get used to it, does not have a separate 'tension' knob - so if you loosen the main knob too much without holding onto the camera it will drop down. Though, I am guessing this is fairly common with really small ball heads like this. Much better than trying to balance your camera on a backpack/jacket/rock or something because you don't have a tripod with you! Overall I am happy so far and would recommend this. 5 |

i got the camera mainly for family pictures and to carry hiking and backpacking. its a replacement for a Rebel XT with extra lenses. worked very well hiking, weighs less than the 28 -300mm add on lens for the Rebel. i do miss the manual focus feature and the ability to use polarizer though. has quick and reliable focusing for point and shoot snapshots around the house and the 560mm zoom did very well on flower close ups, even from 3 ft away. all in all, if you are looking to simplify and still maintain some control, i would definately recomment the SX20 IS. 5 |

As someone that takes adventure photos, snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, exploring ... I really can’t imagine doing this without thi clip. If fits all my backpack due to 2 different bolt sizes. I can safely and comfortably carry my camera anywhere and have instant access. I've been recommending it to all my colleagues. 5 |

I bought this for my family to be able to have peace of mind when I am out solo hiking/backpacking. The features are pretty intuitive and it didn't take long to figure out the basic operations. I use it mainly for the simple check in messages and to have it in case I need to use the SOS for an accident or health emergency (which thankfully I haven't had to use...yet). I like the size and the screen is clear and easy to read even without my glasses on. I do wish that you could do more from the phone app rather than having to go to my laptop for some things but all in all a very good product. 5 |
