I bought this with the intention to use it as a DSLR mount. All you need is a couple of $5 parts and this holds a 7D and a prime lens with no safety concerns (the shoe part screws off to reveal a 1/4inch female thread attached to the ball head). I had a 7D rig 20 ft up on a stairwell (for video work), and it was solid, steady and safe. All the parts are metal this is a really great piece of kit. 5 |
