Camera Screen Monitor

This is currently the best on-camera monitor that money can buy. Camera control works very smoothly and the monitor’s user interface is very responsive and well thought out. Touch screen is also a great feature when using the camera control functions. I was surprised to learn that a screen protector comes in the kit!

Shades the sun on my video cam monitor screen. I keep one (various sizes) in each camera bag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monitor is great. Since working from home and using a laptop, I needed a larger screen to see everything spaced out better. This monitor fit the build. I the camera is perfect for those zoom meetings and the speakers are ok. I have this paired with my Lenovo IdeaPad and everything connected with no issues. The resolution is great and the size is perfect for my desk size. I love it because I didn't need to connect a camera to the top of the screen. This combination of monitor and camera is hard to come by. I highly recommend it!

I've now installed LCD screen protectors on about 10 cameras, going back at least a decade. In fact, the very first one I installed was a lifesaver. I managed to drop a Nikon D750 five feet onto a concrete floor. It landed directly on the LCD area. The screen protector was shattered; the monitor was perfect. I picked up the camera, which was fine, bought another screen protector, and I continue to use that D750 to this day. It made me a believer in protection screens. And D750s. Installation of these things is tricky. Read the directions -- carefully -- before starting the task. The LCD screen must be squeaky clean, and the glass itself must be centered exactly over the screen. BUT -- do not despair if the glass goes on slightly off-center. Careful pressure with the edge of Vello's guitar-pick-like plastic applicator tool -- exerted laterally on the edge of the screen protector -- should allow you to center it. If the glass is not centered, it may not adhere properly, depending on the camera. I have never had a screen protector come off unless I took it off. And I have observed that used-equipment webpages across the Internet are littered with cameras that are rated good rather than excellent just because of scratches and nicks on the LCD monitor.

The Atomos Shogun 7. The new update is great, 4 camera's for 1 monitor. So many settings for the Atomos Shogun. Really good monitor with recording for those high end projects. I'd like to be able to change the screen's white point. Some buttons would be welcomed, I personally don't like touch screen for all my work. I like a clean screen to look thru.

If your looking for a simple monitor to use for your camera, I highly recommend this one. Great for beginners who just want extra screen space to view what is going on in front of the camera without relying on the viewfinder that comes with the camera. Easy to setup and program and makes you look like a pro when using it. I use mine when recording Masses at church so I can see how my shot looks or need to make a concise adjustment such calibrating focus etc. It be nice if came with a battery but no biggie. Those are simple to find.

My Shimbol on-camera monitor is brand new, so I’m still testing it. The cast aluminum build is really solid and feels like pro gear, surprising in this price range. The touch screen is responsive and the image is great, with many adjustment options. Also runs fine off my camera battery’s 12v tap. Monitor arrived in a “cute” case with a loop-strap, a solid shoe mount, two HDMI cables, a plastic screen protector, a polishing cloth and a manual. No power connector, though. We’ll see how long before the shine wears off. But my first impression is thumbs-up.

This Hoodloupe is a must have. Years on squinting and fidgeting with the angle of the camera monitor trying to see images on a 2 then 3 inch screen. I should have bought one of these 10 years ago. Its as necessary as a tripod.

This screen was bought to use with my Sony a7ii mounted on a DJI Ronin-M. I had it linked from HDMI from the monitor to a mini HDMI. It displayed my screen from my camera exactly how I see it. It displays it very accurately and honestly it might even be better than what you see on the camera screen. The only complaint I have is that you have to use a headphone jack adapter, or an aux cable on the screen to make the squealing from the mics and speakers from both the camera and the monitor to stop. It still record audio and plays back fine too. Other than that it’s a really good screen for the price.

1/17/2024 To ALL OF YOU I use this KanexPro 1x2 HDMI Splitter on the on-camera monitor on the monitor of the computer screen with a both HDMI cable from the NIKON D3200 DSLR camera's output to the front of an HDMI splitter to the on-camera monitor and the computer monitor, they are both work perfect, even there's NO problems AT ALL with them. This is my favorite hobby is audio/video post-production about making a film/video.
