You can use it for anything. I use it as a stabilizer when shooting hand held video on my canon 5d. also great for sporting events or POV photos. all around great product.

We have other Canon image stabilizer binoculars but these are by far the sharpest.

I bought this for my canon cinema camera. First camera stabilizer I’ve bought and used after doing tons of research online. A very solid confident build.

This is a great way to smoothly handle my Canon C100 Mark ii camera. I tried a smaller motorized gimbal with my DSLR camera and lost patience with getting it balanced and the extra tech that's required. I like the hand-held look but the weight of the C100 camera, over time, makes it difficult to keep steady. Just the FLYCAM stabilizer and a mounted camera is heavy, but the vest makes it effortless. It's doubtful someone could support the camera and stabilizer alone for any length of time without a Herculean arm. After quickly balancing it, I walked around, through doorways, and climbed some stairs to test it out. It was so smooth that the video just glided with barely a notice of my movements. I even ran into something while shooting and it was hardly noticeable. Planning to use this a lot!

I have a good Canon camera, needed one Video stabilizer for better quality videos, with this Revo ST-500 I could very easily set and get the desired results. I take photos and videos on family occasions at home and outdoor.

I was looking for a canon camera and I thought the extra zoom the stabilizer and Wi-Fi over the 180 was worth the extra price

This lens was the prefect choice for me needs. I am using it with the Canon 5D3 on a camera stabilizer, the WenPed MD2. It is lightweight, which is very important for using with the hand-held stabilizer, very wide, without distortion (24mm is perfect). 2.8 is better that 1.8 for this purpose because with the stabilizer, I plan to roam around shooting smooth shots, but not able to touch the lens to adjust focus. So most shots are at f 9 if I can pull it off, which allows pretty good DOF. The Canon quality is also a plus. The tests I have done so far have been very impressive. The USM does not come into play with this usage, but the Image Stabilizer does. Big time. All in all, very happy with this lens.

I'm a cinematographer and regularly use glidecam hd-2000 with dslr's such as 5D's and 1Dx mark II, I also often use a Glidecam Hd-4000 with a C300 mark II, and even own a giant came-tv vest and stabilizer rig with wires for batteries and monitors going through it. I hate that big thing because there's no real freedom of motion for rising shots etc and it takes forever but i'm sure for walking shots on a movie set or something it's just right. Anyway I'm a strong believer in no vest because you get so much more shots you can capture. This stabilizer is amazing in every way. It is super portable which is important so you have it. Faster to setup. Stable when set down (much more than glidecam since those can tip to the side easier than this one). This looks better, and is carbon so more efficient with weight just for balancing, smaller shaft and bearing means less friction introduced through the bearing. It's extremely smooth. Has smooth position knobs without the extra unnecessary locking screws on the glidecam. This has exactly what you need with nothing extra. it's simple to start on and excellent enough for a pro. It can handle my 5D mark III with a 16-35mm 2.8 L which is a heavy setup. It even just scraped by at the edge of balancing same camera with a 50mm 1.2L. I plan on getting some extra weights to make sure I'm set with various cameras such as if I have to put a lav receiver on the hotshoe for single mic work solo shoot with mic running into the camera. I wish they made an identical but just slightly bigger version to compete with glidecam hd2000 size but most small stabilizers handle fine if you add more weight to them. Don't hesitate to buy this. I would recommend this as the most important item to shoot with over a slider, over a tripod (shots need motion people!)

I use the glidecam with my T3i and 5D Mark II with wonderful results. If you are looking for a great stabilizer and extremely smooth video look no further than the Glidecam HD2000. There is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it (and how to balance it) you will never go back to handheld video again!

I use a NikonD200 with a Neoprene neck strap and the neoprene, flexible Stabilizer Strap (Op/Tech USA) around my chest when camera is not in use. The stabilizer precents the camera swaying when I am running, climbing, or otherwise active, even getting out of crowded vehicles. The stbilizer prevents the strap from impacting anything like branches, rock walls, furniture, or the person in the seat ahead of me. It permits the camera to instantly slip out of the stabilizer, leaving the strap in position./ The strap length is adjustable to fit over a bulky jacket or vest, and the snap-on ends make it easy to fit.The central lens opening can be enlarged to fit extremely wide diameter lenses. I canot imagine how it could be improved.
