[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome, especially when it comes with 1TB of OneDrive Cloud (who doesn’t use cloud to store now? Safer, frees up hard drive) with all the latest Office. I also love OneNote

I have now subscribed to the Creative Cloud Photography Plan for 3 years now. Each time I was able to take advantage of a discounted subscription card from B&H which makes this an even better value. The CC plan includes Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and 20GB of CC cloud storage. The CC plan also includes access to a number of mobile apps which can be used on your iPad or iPhone with the CC cloud storage keeping all of the devices synchronized. The CC cloud makes it extremely convenient to share your processed photos with others.

Bought the Ninja Ultra, Connect and Recording and Accessory kit in order to get full functionality: monitor, ProRes back-up of camera files, RAW recording, and Connect 2 Cloud. Don’t think I’ll need the NDI feature, but if a client wants it, it’s only a $99 add-on for HD. My only complaint so far: no manual as of July 2024. The Ultra has been out for months, it’s inexcusable there’s no manual. That said, the menu is largely intuitive and most things I needed to know can be Googled. I did have to contact support with questions a couple times and they always responded quickly with good answers. I couldn’t figure out why the record button was grayed out, and was told you can’t record on the Ninja until you either pair it with Atomos Cloud Services or press “Unpair ACS” in the Ninja menu. Key instructions like that should come with the monitor. The monitor is accurate to my Sony FX6 LCD, with a slightly better color match than my Odyssey 7Q+. I was concerned there may be latency, especially over HDMI, but a test at 23.98P showed the Ninja only lags by one frame whether connected by SDI or HDMI. The Ninja does get really hot, but even with the fan on auto it hasn’t kicked on during recording. Tested the C2C connection to Frame.io, a short clip showed up in Frame.io within seconds, but this will depend on WiFi speed. Awesome feature. Overall very happy with the diverse functionality of the Ninja/Connect system, it’s an impressive Swiss army knife with different tools for different jobs. At this price it’s a good buy and a great 5” alternative to my 7” Odyssey for run-and-gun shoots, while on studio shoots it compliments the Odyssey with C2C and 4K recording, while the Odyssey delivers the key feature of being able to display multiple camera feeds side by side.

As expected, this camera up the quality of all online video, even when the cloud resolution wasn't set to higher, the image was still better

If you shoot professionally, data loss anxiety of clients is something you want to avoid. Building redundancy into your production process is critical. Using professional cards is expensive but necessary. The cost of an experienced psychologist is $275 per hour. Invest the money of a few sessions in the SD cards, and you will feel better. Guaranteed. I use a Canon C70 and two card slots in the camera. This way, I use two high performance Angelbird cards to backup footage instantly in the field.in the camera. You can use an HDMI recorder, but I like the backup provided by the extra card. In my studio, I place one card in a fireproof safe while I upload the footage to my cloud storage and my inhouse raid backup system. Only once I have verified that everything is properly backed up onto the cloud and locally, I reformat both Angelbird cards in the C70 on the day of my next shoot. This procedure has worked flawlessly so far. I don't know what the lifetime is of these cards, but I have not had any problems. They are capable of recording full 4K. With slower cards, I ran into buffer overload of cards and missed important shoots.

I LOVE that this doesn't store video on the 'Cloud' - that was an important requirement for me. The App makes it so easy to use and I'm non inundated with alerts. I like it so much that I bought my mom one. The complaint she had with her Ring camera was the false alarms and the doorbell ringing in the middle of the night. That doesn't happen with the Lorex Doorbell. Although not an advertised feature, I was able to integrate it with my older Lorex NR900 series NVR camera system. I really love it!

Using this with a Cloud Key Gen2 Plus.  Plugged in camera to network, Cloud Key identified it, adopted camera, updated firmware and started using it about 5 minutes after unboxing.  Great picture!
