Cameras Over The Years

I am in the electronics business and have been for over 40 years. Over the years, I've installed several brands of cameras for my own use as well. Ecobee so far has proven to be the best value. The setup is so easy that a 6-year-old child could do it. Seriously!

Over the years a have amassed more bags than cameras. I was always seeking bag nirvana, and I believe the F-6 is the one! It is perfectly suited to my Leica CL, a lens or two and some cleaning supplies. My 48 years of photography experience has shown that the more junk you carry, the less chance you have of getting the perfect shot, because of fumbling around in all the junk. The F-6, for me, is a perfect street bag; small, light, rugged, unobtrusive, and stylish. For 30+ years now I have used nothing but Domke bags. They are superior to all others.

Over the years I've purchased many Watson batteries for different cameras and have been pleased with their performance, never experiencing a failure to charge or hold its charge or leakage. There are 2 versions of this battery size, the other a slightly smaller mAh capacity and a few dollars cheaper, but I prefer this one that approaches the Panasonic battery in capacity.

I always buy an LCD Screen Protector for my cameras. Over the years, I have used various brands. The last one was for my D750 and I liked it, so bought the Phantom Glass for the D850.

Over the years I have purchases RX100s for travel to take along with my Fuji cameras. The RX100 goes in my shirt pocket and I have found that I pull it out on the streets of Rome, Paris, Fez, Barcelona all the time. But when get home I sell them and just use my Fuji cameras. But this VA has really won me over. It is now my main street photography camera. Not going to sell this one.

Over the last six-eight years I have been using different Vello LCD Screen Protectors on several my cameras (seven in total) and all of those Screen Protectors worked great and lasted with no issues, like new. Thick and durable, clear like a quality glass. Fairly easy to install and sticks with no bubbles if you follow the instructions properly. What else can you wish from it? Just get one and enjoy.

Over 25 years ago we purchased 2 Pentax cameras and used them happily until a digital camera took over. With this purchase we are back to using the old lenses and equipment and enjoying all the new features that this camera offers.

Over the past two years, I've added a Leica Q2M and Q2 to my arsenal of photographic equipment. Although I normally go out with a single camera, there are times when I want to take both cameras with me not knowing if I'll discover images best taken in monochrome or color. So, I began to search for a nondescript bag, not to big, not to small, narrow but not too narrow, that would accommodate both cameras, a handful of filters, and few other necessities. I finally decided to order the Ten DNA 13 DSLR Camera Messenger Bag in black. To date, I'm really happy with the purchase. The price point might seem a little high, but the quality of the bag, strap, fittings (especially the cool easy to flip open and close magnetic buckles, zippers and zipper pulls, water proof bottom, rain cover, and handle.....are just what I was looking for. If I put it over my shoulder it looks like a simple carry bag. Nobody would guess that it contains two Leica cameras. I've had to cut my own foam inserts to put things exactly where I want them....but that was no big deal. I like this bag.....a lot....even though it wasn't intended for the purpose I had in mind.
