I purchased this to replace a Canon 24-70 2.8L. The DXO review looked great and I wanted something with Image Stabilization and nobody else has it in this focal length. This lens is exceptional! I own a lot of L series glass, but this is the sharpest lens I now own. Color rendition and contrast are excellent also. Will probably replace my 70-200 2.8L IS with the Tamron. They have really stepped up their game with the G2 series. 5 |

I lost my OEM shade for my Canon 24-70 f/4.0 on vacation. Must have banged it and fell off. Anyhow, I use shades for just that reason, not just for flair protection. This aftermarket shade fits and locks as good as the OEM shade. It doesn't have the flocking inside the shade as the canon brand but not sure if that's worth the $50 premium for the canon brand. Very happy with the product. 5 |
