Canon 24Mm F1.4

Bought this lens for astrophotography, cityscapes, and landscapes. Previously had bought Rokinon's 24mm/f1.4 lens and had been very happy with it. Did not have any concern about the build quality. Testing the 14mm on a Canon 5DIII, the images were focus sharp, no noticeable vignetting no color shifting, etc. Bought the AE chip to avoid having to write down my exposure setting in the dark. Focus at infinity is about 1/3 of the way between the vertical line and the infinity symbol, but no real issue there. Because of the front lens element, you cannot mount any filters. No aperture ring, it is controlled by the camera, as is Canon's L lenses. Lightroom read the EXIF data without any problems. Future wish is for Rokinon to offer the AE chip on other lenses, hopefully the 24mm/f1.4 which is a great lens by the way. I would buy the 14mm lens again. 5 |

I always used to hesitate with Sigma lenses because they were not there in optical quality to the Canon or Nikon lenses. Not the Art series lenses. They are outstanding lenses in their own right. This is the second one I purchased. I did compare it to the Canon TS 24mm f3.5 Mk1. The Sigma is just as sharp at f1.4 as the Canon is at f3.5. Image rendering is just as good. I do not know what the Canon 24mm f1.4 is like but I struggle to think it is twice as good for double the expense (if indeed the Canon is better). A game changer in lenses. Makes the name brand lens expensive. I wonder what it is like against a Leica M 24 f1.4? That said the Leica is half the size. That is where I think the money is spent by Leica, making a lens that performs spectacularly well in a small size. I am content that I have probably saved $6K over the Leica to have a lens that performs in a superlative manner. 5 |

But I took it personally in B&H store in Manhattan.. and FIRST copy they give me was SOFT also!! , so I test it and asking another one... so far it's looks COOL!! will shoot more tomorrow... So.. All you need it get a GOOD one! :) 5 |

I have the 18-35mm F1.8 for my DX sensor,and I'm 100% sure that even before i try the new 24mm F1.4, i will but and i will love. 5 |

I feel that it far exceeds the performance of 14mm f2.8L (1st Gen.) and even exceeds 24mm f1.4L (1st Gen.) . It is heavy and large, but its performance is perfect. 5 |

Received the Sigma 24MM f1.4 ART for Sony E-Mountand0 was impressed but not surprised as I had several Art lens for Canon before I switched over to Sony. Excellent build quality. Fast, quiet and fast/sharp focus, with less distortion that I would have expected. Worked as well as my G Master glass, except no focus button on the lens itself. Really love the image quality and low light capability--matched with Sony A9. If there is a downside, I have not found it yet. 5 |

The shots taken with this lens are very very sharp, good contrast. I tried using F1.4 to F5.6 and they are sharp corner to corner with no vignetting. I don't find this lens heavy. The 24mm F1.4 is even heavier. I decided to get this lens rather then the 24mm cos I have a 21mm lens already. If you can find a stock for this lens, go get it. Never regret. 5 |

This thing is HUGE. Like really really big. Absolutely dwarfs the 14mm F2.8L II and the 24mm F1.4L II. It's almost twice as heavy as those lenses too. The lens cap is comically big. BUT all said and done, it's ridiculous size is for a reason. It is extremely sharp at all ends and somehow has even less chromatic aberration than the 14mm F2.8L II. I did a full comprehensive review of it here. ------------------------------ 5 |

I broke the original lens hood on the Sony FE 24mm f1.4 on a overseas assignment. Was happy to order a replacement right away from B&H when I got home. Luckily it was on stock while the 24mm lens is still on back ordered. The only drawback is it is very expensive for a lens hood replacement and I will not do it again. 5 |

I love the Rokinon 24mm F1.4 lens. I use it on my Nikon Z6 ii camera body with the Ftz ii adapter. It communicates with my camera. I can change aperture in camera instead of changing aperture with the ring on lens. My pictures are sharp when stopping down to F2 thru F22. I had to place camera on tripod to get sharp pictures when shooting at F1.4,but I am 66 yrs. old. 5 |
