Thanks to the quick start guide, I popped this mic on my Canon EOS 5D Mark II and made a video of my boss answering questions for a collaborative project. It was fairly quick and easy. The mic does take a 9V battery, but luckily we had one hand. Sounds great when I play it back. We also purchased the fuzzy wind sock because our business is oceanfront on the Atlantic. 5 |

Using this attached to a Canon 70-200is II L lens adds the extra reach needed for nature photography while maintaining IQ. Have produced really sharp images using a canon eos 5d mark ii at 2500 iso hand held. The loss of fast af is not an issue as on the 5d mark ii body mannuel focus is much needed to learn how to use. 5 |

Bought this for my canon 5D Mark II camera, and chose the Canon brand over other less expensive 3rd party brands due to its solid construction and locking connector. I'm using this mainly for HD video timelapse. A common complaint with many users of this brand and others is that there is no power on/off switch. So far, not an issue for me, however.
