Canon 5D Mark Vs 6D

I have used this lens on a Canon 5d Mark II, Canon 6D, and a Sony A7R with adapter. All pictures I took with this lens always turn out great or better than expected. It is tack sharp and on the Sony A7R it shines amazingly! It also works very well on the 6D and the 5D. This is a great lens to travel with, for Landscape, Star lit landscapes also and is a great portrait lens. The Bokeh on this lens is great too! I always have this lens in my bag!

I sold my Canon 5D Mark iii and purchased a 6D. I am in the wedding and event videography business (for 35 years now) and the 5D Mark iii was an overkill for what I do. This battery grip BG-C8 hooked up with my Canon 6D is a great pair. It is great for shooting video pretty much all day with the extra battery compartment. It also provides a great feel--excellent grip--- with the Canon 6D. I highly recommend it.

I am not a professional photographer but like to take pics for a hobby. I have Canon 6D, 6D Mark II, 7D Mark II x2, 5 DsR and 5D Mark IV. All are great cameras but found with them that I need to shoot -1/3EV to get correct exposure. Decided to buy the 1Dx Mark II because I always wanted it and now B&H is the only place it is still for sale. I bought the 5D Mark IV because it used the same battery and sd cards I always used. Buying this camera I knew I would have to change. I still have a lot to learn about this camera but the exposure is spot on. I initially set it up like my other Canons but pics were underexposed. After setting it to 0 exposure compensation pics were right on. The light meter in this camera is worlds ahead of the light meters for the others I have owned. I am very happy with the increased frame rate but will have to say that I am not getting as many pics as the shutter click says. That may be my CF card, not sure. This camera is totally in a different league than others I own. I am very happy with the purchase. I try to capture hummingbirds in the summer and am very happy with the shots I have gotten so far. They are much better than with any other Canon cameras I own. I will probably look at the Mark III for my next purchase.

The Canon 6d Mark II is providing this photographer with one of the best experiences. I had an old 5d Mark II, but the 6d Mark II provides a more simplefied presentation.

The 1550 case fits 2 gripped bodies (5D mark III and 6D), 2 zoom lenses (24-105 and 70-200) plus a couple of 50mm, battery charger, and there still a bit of room to squeeze in a chocolate bar. Indestructible. I've had a few other Pelican casees over the years, and there is just nothing better to get your gear on set safely.

Used it with 6d, 5d mark ii, and 7d mark ii without any issues. Fast forcus for sports and wild life photos.

I have one for the 5d Mark III and the 6d. I use the z-finder a lot - so this works well for me. There's no pressure on the camera LCD.

I was upgrading from a 70d to full frame. I looked at the 6d Mark II and the 5d Mark IV. The 6d had many of the same features I wanted in the 5d Mark IV (although slightly less pixel count) and all of the features I did want. The 5d had features I would probably never use, and didnt have some of the features I used on my 70d.  If you are a 70d user, then there is virtually no learning curve when you move up to the 6d Mark II. Ergonomically the only difference I found was the location of the Q and zoom buttons. Everything else is virtually the same. Huge plusses for me are the built in GPS, and the addition of the vertical level. Also, the customizable menus are a significant improvement over the 70d. I also like being able to go down to ISO 50. That helps a lot with long exposures. It doesnt have a built in flash, but I never use it anyway, so no biggie. The auto focus is a slight step up from the 70d. It is extremely accurate and fast, especially when shooting video. Speaking of focus, the one drawback Ive found is that they scrunched all the focus points into the center. I wonder why they did that? So far it hasnt been a problem for me, but I can see where it would limit pose some limits if youre used to moving them around manually. All of my photos have been tack sharp, and the exposure spot on. I love this camera and would highly recommend it for your first full frame rig. Gee! Now I get to go out and buy a couple of new lenses.
