Canon Bu 30 Bluetooth Adapter Manual

2024-07-27 05:17:46

I have a 30+ year old Tamron macro zoom lens with an Adaptall 2 mounting ring for Pentax K. Last week I bought a D3500 from B&H. I saw this adapter on the B&H site and figured why not give it a try. I removed the Pentax adapter, put on this one for the Nikon F, and found this adapter does work with my old lens and new camera. Since this is a totally manual lens you need to run the camera in manual mode (M). You adjust the ISO setting and shutter speed on the camera. You adjust aperture and focus on the lens just like using an old 35-mm film camera. This adapter has given life to a lens I have not used for over 15 years. The adapter is what it is - it mates the old lens to the camera body. I have no complaints. Since it either works or it does not, I gave it 5 stars.

The FotodioX Pro lens mount adapter for Canon FD to Canon EF-M is well made, fits tightly to the EOS M5 camera, and performs the task it was designed to do. I have 10 Canon FD SSC lenses from 17mm to 400mm purchased in the 1970s and 1980s, including two zooms. All have been easy to use with manual focus (using the M5's focusing aids) and manual aperture stop down (with the camera in Av mode). Some of the lens breech mounts are a bit loose from many years of use, but even these had acceptable results when held firmly against the adapter (I will have to tighten the lens mounts). The rest of the lenses fit tightly to the adapter. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase that allows me to use all my old lenses on my new M5 body.

I use this adapter to connect my cinema lenses with Canon EF mount to my mft bmpcc. The cinema lenses all have manual focus and aperture rings so this adapter was a great purchase since I had no need for electronic connection to my lenses. It seems sturdy enough and it fits snugly and securely with my canon and Rokinon lenses as well as with the bmpcc. Of course, there is the issue of sensor crop, which this adapter does nothing for, but its better than not being able to use any of this expensive glass I have laying around. It does what it is supposed to do and for the price, its well worth the investment!

This adapter lets my use my old manual Pentax lenses on my Canon DSLR. The only problem is that is is a little tricky to get the adapter off the lens.

This adapter is great to adapt manual M mount lenses to Canon R cameras. Your Summicrons and Noktons have a new destination. The helicon allows a much closer focus than the usual 0.7 m limit for these lenses. It is simple and it works.

I've had the adapter out for about 4 sessions of testing and getting the hang of using it with my old Canon FD lenses on a Fuji X-T3. It is a bit tricky because the adapter and the lens are fully manual. A key thing for use with Canon FD lenses is the blue ring: turned one way, the lens is wide open, turned the other way, the lens stops down to the f-stop you've selected with the manual lens ring on the lens. Note that you must put the lens on the adapter with the ring set to the wide open position (labelled Install). The adapter is very nicely constructed, with smooth motions. It comes with no front or back caps, and no case, in a very small box (minimal packaging). There is one minor change I would suggest to the designers: there are 4 ticks between the zero and five degree marks, and 4 more between 5 and 10. Maybe when I get the hang of it, I will visually determine the angle setting I need, but right now I am using a chart or table, and it would be nicer to have ticks every 1 degree, instead of every 1.25 degrees. A pretty minor gripe! I have one hypothetical concern: the brass setscrew that you tighten to lock the tilt at a certain angle is rather small. I worry it might break or fail at some point. But this is entirely hypothetical, and there is the reality that there is only so much room to play with on such an adapter -- it all has to fit in the difference between the flange distances of Canon FD and Fuji X mounts. And even the setscrews/knobs on Canon TSE lenses are not very large, so perhaps I shouldn't worry. I am really enjoying the opportunity to work with lens tilt and shift lens for 1/10 the price of a Canon or Nikon TS lens.

This is my second such adapter. I use them to mount a Canon 28mm and 300 mm lenses. These are older, manual focus lenses. The adsspter is well-machines, having a good fit an solid feel.

This adapter works just great with my Canon 50mm f/1.4. Of course focus is manual, but not difficult. Don't forget to that this locks in, so you need to use the regular button or slide to release the adapter, just like a lens.
