With the recent price drop I decided to pick up one of these cameras. It is a great all around camera for general purpose use. Being their flagship, Canon throws in everything and the kitchen sink. There are many features to cover every type of professional photography from portrait to photojournalism to professional sports. Even as an amateur I benefit from features like the built in GPS and extremely fast operation. This camera just moves faster than the 5 series cameras that I have used. The huge battery and built in grip are amazing. Being a Canon camera, the ergonomics and user experience are top notch. Now the cons. It's not a travel camera. It's big and heavy and robust. It only has 20mp but for most uses 20mp is more than sufficient. I have a Canon 5DSR that I can use when I need the resolution. This camera and the 5DSR complement each other very well with each being the opposite of the other. The 5DSR is slower, smaller, lower ISO, but with higher resolution. The 1DX Mark II is bigger, faster, higher ISO, but lower resolution. Overall I am very happy that I was able to add this caliber of camera to my kit because of the discounted price. I would take this over a new mirrorless camera any day.

I was excited to see that Canon dropped the price on the 7d, I had been looking to buy used, but couldn't pass up the chance to pick it up at the lower price, and with an additional 100 rebate. I'm upgrading from a 30d so it's a bit of a jump. The camera has been easy to use so far, though I've yet to delve too deep into the custom functions. Things I like, it's super fast, seems to have very good high iso shoots, I took some shots at 6400 that looked very acceptable. I like that I can program buttons on the camera, very cool. The Live view is Not what I expected, but still interesting. Things I don't like, the autofocus points stay in the view finder, i wish they'd disappear after they blink. I don't like the delay when taking a pic in live view mode, I don't like that I have to hit 2 different buttons to select my auto focus points. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is an extra battery for my Canon camera and it charged quickly and is performing well in the camera. The price was great and the delivery by B&H was faster than I had expected.

The Canon R50 is a great camera giving the photographer everything needed to get a great shot but without all the conveniences we have learned to expect. There are no custom modes to set up in advance for frequent shots. There is no highlight alert and no way to set up Servo for the best tracking that is available on all other Canon's except the R100. Certainly not a deal breaker considering the price, retail $679 but sale through 03/31 $579. Also, I love the size, it is tiny and works well for me hiking and off roading. Getting a small camera to perform this well is fantastic. I bought the 1st one used to try it out but purchased a new one tonight because it is everything I want and need in a travel, hiking and off roading camera at a great price. It will shoot up to 15 fps which is great for action during our off roading adventures. I highly recommend this camera for travel, hiking, off roading etc. It is very small which I think is an attribute.
