Canon Camera Software

I own a Canon xl2 and gl2 and just picked up one a canon hf s10 and want to say that the video quality is amazing for such a small camera and should be considered a prosumer camera. I am still getting used to its weight, it almost feels like nothing in my hands being used to heavier cameras. This is not for live video feeds without purchasing expensive hardware as the cpu recognizes it only as a memory device. Aftermarket batteries and lenses are fairly inexpensive compared to oem products. If recording in 24p make sure your software will import correctly. The internal stabilization feature kinda makes the software stabilization look weird. So use only one, either software or built in camera. Do your homework on this product if using for pro work 5 |

Canon did not include an USB cable with my camera purchase. I would either use WIFI or take out the memory card to upload to my PC. The Canon software did recognize my camera using WIFI but downloading was slow. Using the card straight in my PC was faster, but my Canon software would not recognize my card when I plugged it in. Now with the USB cable I just plug it in my camera and it recognizes it and downloads fast. 5 |

This cable permits me to use the Canon software to control the Canon camera form inside my car. It does not matter how cold or how many insects are flying about. I have complete control of the caners jut not the zoom feature of the lens, but all exposure, aperture and many other camera feature, including interferometer. Image is then displayed right on my laptop screen from the comfort of my car. Great for night star pictures of prolonged photography situations. Full recommend this product. All camera equipment bodies and lenses are Canon equipment 5 |

We have used Canon equipment for years and appreciate the the high quality of the images and the software. Our older Elph was stolen recently and we replaced it with the SD780 IS. We can easily carry this little camera in a pocket and the images are better than our older Elph. I have compared some images from this camera with those taken with my D5 and it is hard to tell the difference in smaller prints or on the Internet. 5 |

This GPS logger integrates nicely with the Canon T4i, just turn it on and go! A single AA battery can last quite a while, depending on the setting you choose for logging frequency. Attaching it to the hotshoe makes it easy to carry, though it does stick out a bit. If you want to use a flash, you can attach it by a USB cable, instead. (They supply both a long and short cable to suit your needs.) In the event you don't want it attached all day, it can still be used to sync the camera's clock perfectly, and then independantly log the day's travels for later geotagging. The only negative is to download the log file requires that you use the Canon software. (I would have preferred to just copy the file off like a flash drive.) But if you don't need the log, it will geotag the photos directly in the camera, no special software needed, and no extra processing later on. 5 |

I recently purchased the Canon 90D. It has taken a bit of time -as I am not a techy- to learn all the new software options within the camera itself. I am very pleased with the 90D. 5 |

I own the Mark I, II and now the III and I have to say it is fantastic! Tracking is finally up to par for BIF, it's not miles ahead of the Mark II but it definitely shows improvement in holding onto subjects moving in front of busy backgrounds such as trees. Once you lock on, you have it. Picture quality is also better for jpegs (haven't tried the Heif yet), and Raw pictures which I am currently using Canon's own software DPP (easily downloaded from their site; third party software is still not up to this latest version of raw other than Lightroom and Photoshop and Canon's software). I haven't mastered the smart controller on the rear yet due to the cold New England weather, but on the few occasions that I have used it I know that it will become very useful in focus point selection (it can be very sensitive as I needed to turn down the sensitivity of the control in the menu). Going from the Mark II to the Mark III I have noticed the increase of frame rates immediately (even though it is only 2fps), this camera is fast. I tried using the live view functionality but given that most of my shooting is outdoors it was difficult to follow the subject on the LCD, but the tracking and frame rate hit was excellent. I cannot comment on the video capabilities as I rarely take videos, I'm more into still photography. All in all this is a great camera and I have a lot more to take advantage of on this camera to realize it's full potential. 5 |

I made the jump from Canon to Sony after having both for a number of years. My first Sony was the Nex-7 and although I loved the quality the software was funky and Sony slow to make it better. While waiting for a new A7, I bought a Sony 6400 APS-C camera. Great value for the money, but noisy at any higher ISO. With no image stabilization and the smaller Sony battery, there were some frustrations. I built out my FF lenses, with the FE 20mm 1.8, Tamron 28-200 , and Samyang 85 1.4 AF. The payoff was the A7iv! Much better software, great features, and IQ. The camera seems to handle higher ISO for still and movie capture quite well. Love the customization, with ample controls like the joystick, buttons, and innovative ability to set up separate controls for Still, Movie, and S&Q. There is a lot here and it could be daunting. I highly recommend becoming a patron of Mark Galer to get the latest in CAMSET files you can load to speed up the customization and ebooks for guidance on-camera use and post-processing. 5 |

I bought the pro version of the software from B&H about a week ago. Software installation went smoothly on my MacBook Pro/10.9.5. After reading the manual and watched a couple videos on line I was ready to use the software to calibrate my Nikon & Canon lenses. Canon 5D mark3 and Nikon D750 need user assist to run the calibration software which I was not very happy about but got used to it quickly. The only thing I had to watch for was to use a very sturdy tripod and use a very soft touch to change the setting during the test. Of course software takes some camera movement in to consideration when it displays the result. Target setup was not difficult for me and if you setup your target correctly your calibration results are repeatable. Probably the plus version would have been good enough for me. 5 |

If you have a Canon Printer these produce outstanding results as profiles are in software. 5 |
