I have purchased L-Plates for every camera Ive owned since 2003 (the Digital Age), and Sony has been no exception. They keep the weight and lens centered on a tripod in the vertical position, and help protect the camera, somewhat like a roll cage. Cables attached to the side (e.g., for video) are protected, and that protection can be augmented with an Arca cable clamp. The RRS L-plates have two sockets for straps with a military-style quick connector, which is a secure way to carry the camera and easily removed as needed. 5 |

As a Canon film SLR user from 1968 to 2003 and then a Canon DSLR user until August 2022. when I got my R7, I really appreciate that the Control Ring on RF lenses lets me set the f/stop on the lens like with my film SLR - amd this adapter lets me do that with my EF lenses as well. I set shutter speed with the main dial on the top deck and run in Manual exposure with the histogram in the viewfinder, and I'm home. 5 |

For years I used a Canon AE-1 as my primary camera, then wanted to try some digital, so used a couple of Kodak digitals. I missed the ability to do macro photography, which is my favorite, so I recently purchased an Olympus Evolt E-510 and got this lens to go along with it. I was out shooting all weekend at botanical gardens and out in the desert, and can report that I am VERY pleased with this lens. I really liked the light weight of it, and, since I was shooting mainly outdoor shots in sunlight, the focus and response were perfect. I'm really pleased with this purchase and would heartily recommend it. 5 |
