Canon Digital Camera Shooting Modes

For years I used a Canon AE-1 as my primary camera, then wanted to try some digital, so used a couple of Kodak digitals. I missed the ability to do macro photography, which is my favorite, so I recently purchased an Olympus Evolt E-510 and got this lens to go along with it. I was out shooting all weekend at botanical gardens and out in the desert, and can report that I am VERY pleased with this lens. I really liked the light weight of it, and, since I was shooting mainly outdoor shots in sunlight, the focus and response were perfect. I'm really pleased with this purchase and would heartily recommend it.

This camera is really good. It gives users nearly 18 shooting modes, which can combine different bit rates, storage forms, coding, and so on. A variety of color modes, including V-log, which is very popular on GH5. There are also HLG and Like 709, which is a very important feature that makes it easy for me to match the colors of other cameras. The focusing system is a little weak, but it's enough to shoot. The dual SDXC design provides sufficient storage space.

This camera does so much more than I expected. The autofocus is incredibly fast and accurate, there's a ton of creative shooting modes and even creative basic modes. Great camera for enthusiasts of every level.

This camera is an absolute powerhouse of performance shooting 6K raw footage with 12 stops of dynamic range. The features of this camera are seemingly endless. The user is able to set up preset shooting modes so you can change a whole host of settings and shooting modes with a tap of a button. You’re also able to upload LUT’s so wether you have some you plan to use or made one yourself it can be uploaded into the camera and previewed live as you’re shooting and even baked into the footage. With all of the insane features and capabilities of this camera there are some downfalls, however they are small and seemingly insignificant compared to what the camera can do. Problem one is power. It runs on canon lp-e6 batteries and you have about 40 mins of runtime, doesn’t matter if you’re recording or not and this is shortened by older batteries you have a limited time frame per battery. Luckily though the camera is very modular and there are numerous power options to fit a range of budgets but it’s something to consider as part of the initial cost. Although if you’re willing or able it does come with an AC power chord so if you happen to be near an outlet with an extension chord it’s an option, just not an elegant one. Problem two is somewhat obvious given the name but something you may not think about and that’s the 6K RAW footage that eats storage space. I purchased a 1tb SSD for mine and it’s great however it can fill up fast if you’re not careful and if you don’t have a place to put it once it’s off the ssd then you’ll find yourself deleting footage constantly just so you can keep shooting. And a small con regarding that is there isn’t a way to delete a single file in camera it either stays there or you format it. Overall this camera is absolutely incredible and the pros in my opinion and use case completely outweigh the cons, some of which can be solved by getting more accessories, for this camera. It really is like an entry level cinema camera.

great camera. plenty of shooting modes yet also manual controls. lots of optical zoom. for the size of the lcd it could have had better resolution. but overall would recommend this camera.

I bought this camera to replace an older Canon DSLR. I wanted the versatility that s DSLR provides without the weight and size. For me, I found that my older camera was too heavy and bulky to be convenient to carry around everyday. The Olympus E-P3 PEN has been the perfect solution for me. It is so light and small that I carry it around a lot more then I did before. I like the ease of the filters and different scene modes when I'm not using the manual modes. And the touch scene shooting is awesome.

I use the on my Canon EOS M mirrorless digital camera works good. all is well.

I wanted to connect a Ham Radio to a Laptop with Ubuntu running an application for digital modes (FT8). This worked out of the box.

New digital cameras have so many functions and modes. After reading the written manual and having your eyes glaze over just play the DVD and get the practical story on how to operate the D7000. Very helpful to walk through the basic functions of the camera. A definite buy!
