Canon Digital Camera Software Starter Guide

Over my years of doing digital photography, I have found David's guides extremely helpful. I've been using my Z9 for two years now, and this book fills in the gaps, but most importantly, it answers the WHY questions for me. As powerful and complicated as this camera is, the Nikon (download it) user's guide is disappointing. Another thing I like about David's book is he gives is own personal preferences for different settings. If you are going to spend this kind of money on a camera body, it is well worth having this guide.

I think this camera will be a great starter camera.

Cable works as it should. Canon should really include this cable as well as a starter memroy card with the camera.

After having used a Canon XHA1 camcorder for the last 10 years, I needed something that was somewhat future-proof. This camera fits the bill! With my XHA1, I had to have a firewire recorder attached to it since I didnt want to use digital tape anymore. This really killed the portability of the camera. When I saw the HC-X1 by Panasonic, I fell in love! It uses very affordable SDXC cards (I even use it with 256GB cards-no problems yet! They seem to work fine). Buy the best cards that you can. Quality counts in this area. So far Ive shot some test video in full auto mode, and Im impressed with the results. This camera is easy to use, and I highly recommend Barry Greens user guide for the Panasonic UX-180, which is the same camera with the added features of SDI and Time-code. The guide will help you to unlock all of the secrets that this camera offers.

Overall worth it if you have manual focus guide on your camera like Canon R5, its so easy to nail the focus every time. Just beware, in Photoshop there is no profile for this lens but there is one for Rokinon SP 85 f1.2

Great starter kit by Canon came with the essentials extra lens battery charger battery, camera bag, etc. pick one up!

The Canon T5 is a very good starter DSLR. Easy to navigate menu, easy shooting options, and much more. The included lenses in this kit make the camera alot more useful to myself, as I do much more photography from a father distance to the subject. The 75-300mm lens is a great lens for anyone stepping into the DSLR field. I plan on getting a few more accessories for this camera and the lenses farther down the road.
