Canon Digital Ixus I Zoom Camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Canon Zoom Digital Monocular is so much better than expected. First, I love the small size of the camera. You can slip it into your pocket and take it anywhere. It is so lovely being able to take pictures of just about anything. Do you see something you like far away? It is not a problem with this camera. It has such an incredible zoom capability. You can take close-up pictures of sports games and nature or use it as an everyday traveling camera. It also takes video. I appreciate the Bluetooth connection to your phone. It makes image transfer so easy. With the invention of cameras on smartphones, I never thought I would want to carry a camera again, but now that I have this camera, I have completely changed my mind. My phone’s camera does not even compare to this one. It is in a whole other league.

I received a free ZOOM Digital Monocular in exchange for a review. I was very impressed with the quality. It's easy to use, light and compact. It has a nice sleek feel to it and easily fits in your pocket so you can take it anywhere you go. I really like the zoom feature. It's a button you push and it has 3 different zoom depths. When you press the button it automatically zooms in and you don't have to wait, it's super cool. I love that it takes videos and pictures. It also comes with an SD card so you can download all your videos and pictures onto your computer. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in the market for a video camera/camera.

I’ve ordered two of these cameras and wouldn’t hesitate to order another. The pan and digital zoom features help to keep me in the center and not too close to the camera, even if my camera is mounted closer due to desk space and monitor location.

I've been a serious professional photographer since the mid-80's, mostly shooting film on 4x5 systems until switching to digital about 10 years ago when film processing and Polaroid proofing became difficult to accommodate. Happily enough I went to the big Nikon digital cameras with prime lenses and still use them on serious assignments for my architecture and interior design clients. But I also love to walk about on time off in foreign cities or local mountain hikes and frankly, a full frame FX camera with a good mid-range zoom is not all-day friendly. At the same time I did not want to give up a serious approach to my imaging on walkabouts - - enter this beauty from Fuji. The IQ is outstanding, and equipped with a good mid-range zoom I'm clocking in with about 2 lbs total! I'm delighted. The camera's menu can be daunting, however, a claim substantiated with an included 300 page manual. Then again, it is a multi-purpose tool designed to accommodate a number of varied tasks admirably (and that it does). So my recommendation there is to master the settings you actually use and let the rest live in a world of maybe later. One can always got to Google or YouTube and find perfectly good shortcuts as necessary. In sum - - I Love This Camera! The attached image is of a Coyote that wandered through my backyard a few days ago. It was photographed on the Fuji X-T3 with their 18-135 mm zoom at 135mm (35mm equivalent 200mm), through a closed kitchen window, and cropped 8-fold! Out of camera jpeg, no post! I rest my case.

The Lumix G-vario 45-175 lens dramatically changes how your Lumix G digital camera operates. This lens is a huge upgrade from the 12-45 lens that comes standard with the Lumix G with crystal clear focas and a much more usable zoom. The internal focal point makes the lens lighter and easier to get those shots where you don't have forever to change the zoom. Highly recomended for any budding photografer.

If you have a compact digital camera preferably with a zoom or even a light interchangeable lens one to which you can attach an extension tube between the body and lens (or use a screw in diopter CU lens). You'll have to experiment a little, and watch the (conservative) attachment weight limit. The 2 position arm allows it to adjust for different distances. It even accommodates cell phone with included accessory.

This camera is the perfect travel camera. Great fast lens and fast autofocus allow it to capture photos in museums without flash or worry. Even at the very dark International SPY Museum the pictures were beautiful with black blacks with no noise. 24-70mm is great and never miss longer lens because the speed of the lens is the thing. I alway leave the digital zoom turned off on every camera but not with this camera. The digital zoom is the best that I have seen and is totally useable. Shot a humming bird on a flower today using ClearImage Zoom and the noise is beautiful like a painting. Mechanical or Electric shutter is awesome. Electric shutter is totally silent and the Mechanical is a satisfying click. It has an Auto that I don't yet understand its function but I like it. The viewfinder is awesome even thought I don't use it very much, because the camera is soo good at getting the shot, but is great to review images with and even better if you need it to get a tricky shot. I even put it in a regular camera rig to test and it works just fine with a regular Zacuto Gratical viewfinder and Atomos Ninja monitor/recorder it is only missing an audio input to be a pro. I think that the battery last a long time but it is good to have a spare and the battery charger in the kit is a totally necessary accessory as is the case that is perfect.

The Canon PowerShot SD 780 IS has got to be the ultimate high quality really compact camera. The deciding factor for me buying this camera was size. You really can carry this camera 24/7 and get very good photographs anytime everytime. I take almost all photos in available light and the 800 and 1600 ISO indexes generate surprisingly good results. The image stabilization and excellent ergonomics result in sharp photos at hand held 1/8 second shutter speeds! I prefer using the camera in the semiautomatic P mode and take about 95% of my pics in this mode. The automatic mode seems to work ok, but I really haven't used this mode much. As for digital zoom, they should have never included it because the quality degradation makes it all but useless. Obviously, this is true with all digital zoom implementations because all you are doing is reducing the effective sensor size. There are tons of features including an optical viewfinder which is great for fast shots. I've tried most features and everything is generally easy to do, but you should read the manual two or three times if you want to do more than just point and shoot pictures. The only improvement I would like to see on this camera is a faster lens. A f/1.4 or f/2 lens would open up huge new photo possibilities. Some day someone will figure out how to do this and still keep the camera small. But for now, buy it; you won't be disappointed.
