When I got my EOS M3 Canon mirrorless camera, one of the things I didn't like was not being able to use my EF-S close-up lens with it. Thanks to Vello, this adapter now makes that possible and still preserves all of the auto features of the lens when used with the camera. Plus at less than $60, it is affordable and the thing is built like a tank!

Why Leica M-A when we have the M3, M2, M6, MP... It is more a philosophical discussion and less a technical one. I am sure there is no possible technical way you can justify creating a new Leica M unless you would dilute the lineage by introducing frivolous digital-type technology. For the film Leica M purist Leica M-A is a completely new camera that is fully mechanical and does not have a meter and needs no batteries - hence it is closer to the M3/M2 in lineage. In my opinion even though it is not different than an MP, if you have, like me, shot used Leicas in the past, this gives you an opportunity to shoot with a brand new M body. Every thing is buttery smooth and it feels like a new M camera - which is an experience probably my dad had when he got his Leica M 35 years back and I never had. That may not mean much in terms of imaging quality as I am sure you can get same images from any of the Leica M bodies with good glass. But considering the big picture it shows that Leica is committed to the film fraternity and is investing in this space. I have the Leica M2, M3 and an M6 and I still got the M-A because it just felt like a modern take on every possible good thing from past Leicas (Like the deviation from the plastic ISO dial at the back to a metal one - small detail but makes the camera look and feel so much better). If we read regular blogger reviews that delve in the technical mumbo jumbo of camera bodies, surely you will come away feeling underwhelmed. I love the pull-up grater style film rewind and some people just hate it. So most of your decision will be based on what you feel the M-A is worth. Technically it is not a better camera than MP or an M3 or even and M2. The Leica M-A has that Je Ne Sais Quoi as the french say - something pleasant but hard to describe. I would recommend going to a Leica store and holding this beauty in your hands - It looks and feels much better in person.

I had one of the leash from Peak Design - but then I bought this clip a couple years ago for my Canon EOS M3. It is so amazing and make my life easier especially I need to carry toddler. This clip is more secure and I don't have to worry about camera would swing and hit something. Best product ever.

In addition to my other Canon bodies and lenses, I own the EOS M3 and the EF and EFS lens adapter, which is needed to use this lens with the M3. I have found that my M3 has become my go to camera body for taking hikes and in applications where weight is a factor. Needing a medium range telephoto lens, I purchased the EF-S 55-250mm lens. While this lens certainly is a lower price range lens, it performs rather well. And, I was pleasantly surprised to find that, with the Vello 10mm and 16mm extension rings available from B&H it does a very respectable job as a macro lens. The bottom line is that I am very happy with the lens.

I haven't tried out the Canon brand adapter, but it seems like this one works just the same. There's a bit of delay between my EOS M3 and my 75-300mm Canon EF lens when using auto focus, but not so slow that it ruins my shots. Pretty snug fit, only a tiny bit of movement when I wiggle it, but keep it turned all the way to the right and it won't move. I also use this with an additional adapter to screw old M42 lenses onto my EOS M3 and it works great with both attachments stacked.

How I use the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lens: - I bought this lens for use with my Canon EOS M3 Mirrorless camera, to get wide shots. What I like about the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM lens: - With the focal length conversion for APS-C sensors, this turns my Canon mirrorless into a 35mm. A very great focal length. With a wide-open aperture of /2 and very close focusing distance, you can get some great macro shots or get amazing bokeh. This is a sharp lens and it works really well with shooting video as well! It's compactness makes the Canon EOS M3 even more pocketable. As with all prime lenses, I feel more conscious my compositions. What I don't like about the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 lens: - I have no complaints, really. Overall: - This lens will make your mirrorless Canon body portable to the max! I feel much more complete having it!
