Canon G10 Review

Great for use with the Canon G10 when doing long shutter speed shots.

I replace a Canon G10 with this camera. The image quality is excelent: very good dynamic range, color and detail in a compact body. With the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 is perfect for street photography.

Basically using this UV filter to protect the lens on my Canon HF G10. Many people believe that adding this filter can degrade the image quality...if so, just use the lens hood which can give u all the protection you need w/o stacking another piece of glass on top. Thanks B&H.

I use this set up with a Canon HF G10 with several accessories attached and it performs perfectly. I use it a lot for run and gun shooting and it is very maneuverable. The legs are easy to open and close, which is important when time is of the essence. The legs are also lightweight, heavy duty, and offer great support. The fluid head offers a wide range of angles and works great for the lighter prosumer camcorders out on todays market. I believe the MVH500A will also work well with heavier professional camcorders. No complaints here.

I use this on my Canon HF G10 video camera. It has proven itself to be very usable to stabilize video shoots with it. The size lends itself to be very controllable without the use of counter weights of other systems. Certainly the counter weight systems are useful in many if not all situations however if those systems are too cumbersome or restrictive then this is one to use. The Canon HF G10 uses a flash drive so it is not a heavy camera making it easy for this grip to handle. The single hand-grip is made of sturdy molded plastic and the attachment and pivot points are well made with a mix of chrome plated high tensile steel and high carbon steel where they count. This type of hand grip is very hard to come by as a lot of available hand grips are either part of a counter weight system or mounting system for lights, microphones, etc. In summary this is a well made, high quality single purpose accessory that deserves support from the motion and still photography community. It is easy to use and its cost is very reasonable in considering its quality. I am a firm believer in the saying that you pay for what you get. The only thing wrong about this item is that it is not always available for immediate purchase. A possible testament to its popularity? Perhaps.

Used in my Canon G10 powershot. provides for great capacity with fast write speed. Would definately recommend and buy another.

I use this zoom control with a Canon HF G10 and it works perfectly. Previously I would use the infrared remote when I needed a smooth zoom. The finger slider zoom on this camera isn't the best. Now I can zoom very smoothly without worrying about running out of batteries. The manual states that you should only plug the controller in when the camera is off, but I think this is just an overcautious warning to prevent electrostatic discharge. If you plug in the controller while the camera is on, it still gets recognized immediately with the HF G10.

g12 is a great upgrade from g10. i use it in an underwater canon housing, it works well w that housing. it is faster than the g10, and images look great.

I use this with great results on my Canon G10 for mid-day shots of landscapes and for macro work at the same time. The linear polarizer serves to deepen the landscape colors and to highlight the flowers and insects captured in the macro mode. Using iso 80, add 2 stops, for iso 100, add one stop. I normally do not use iso's above 200 with the Canon G10. The Canon G series + Hoya 58mm linear polarizer works for me when I'm hiking or whenever a larger DLSR isn't practical. B&H had the lowest online pricing ....Recommended on all counts.

Bought this for my Canon Vixia HF G10 video camera, which has a mini shoe at the very back. I need to mount an Azden dual channel wireless receiver and a SunPak LED light. The hot shoe extension is 8 in. long and rotates and slides fore and aft for easy adjustment. I use it with a Pearstone mini shoe adapter. To prevent the whole unit from being front-heavy when loaded, I attached a small wooden leg that rests upon the camera top and it affixed with a bit of velcro to keep it from sliding. Works great. (as an alternative, I might look at the Opteka X-Grip (B&H # OPXGRIPBK) along with this extension. Made of strong plastic, so it's very light, but solid.
